    Know what's fucked up?

I have experience with surveying and whatnot, yet if I applied with a city/county I'd get denied a job due to no college degree. Yet I'll have actual applied experience in the subject of.

The trails were already marked with numbers. I asked the group leader where which trailhead we would use to get into the forest. Then I got some of the trails and mapped out a circular route around the lake. I usually go about 10 miles north of that route to a smaller lake and dam area. This will be the first time on the route for me. There are a couple of water crossings.
One crossing is just below the dam. It has been raining this week so the dam crossing may be an adventure.

There are some unmarked trails in that area between waypoints that I've traveled on the north end. Those are usually very narrow and give pinstripes. Ha!

Some people actually live out off of the trails in different spots. It's not unusual to see a mailbox with a small road leading to a house. Those are marked with No Trespassing signs.

Our land nav courses were pretty fucking intense; one was an all day-night course that required us camping in Camp Pendleton.

Mind you, if you look at how big Camp Pendleton is..yeah.

Anyway, it covers 2-3 main camps, and you basically navigate all over to certain points on a map to find a small ammo can, sitting on the ground, with something in it that you have to write down. Basically, you yourself are navigating down to the accuracy of what a 10-12 digit grid coordinate gets you...all with a lensatic compass and a damn map and a buddy.

You eat, shit, sleep out there, and find your way back with your findings once you've found all ammo cans listed on your map.

I'm a lightweight newb compared to some guys on the trip. I suspect there will be one of two of the guys at the beginning of this video on the trip. A water crossing and mud may look like this. Since I don't have a snorkel, I may not be able to do a deep water crossing. I'll go give it a try.

It is considering the math used is much more involved than say, laying down a water line or something.

Once I found the G/M angle for any specific location we set up our mortars at, we laid down the gunline (4x81mm mortars).

After getting a POS rep from our FO (forward observer), I would plot him down to in order to find out where he is in relation to us.

He would call out a target, from his location, and estimate a range.

Using that, I would then figure out from Us, the gunline, to the target, and lay down a round to adjust.

    Gun 2 shoots.

During all this, I already have to have knowledge of elevation differences, as well as airspace, and tell my gunline how many charges to use to adjust for round height, as well as TOF (time of flight), in order to call "Splash" 10 seconds prior to round on impact...calling splash is my way of letting the FO know my round is about to hit.

He reports back with a small adjustment, if needed, and then fire for effect.

Once I receive word back, I call suppressive fire for all 4 guns, to shoot 8 rounds each, and lay waste to whatever is out there with rounds that each have a 40 meter blast radius...32 rounds.

That is pretty fucked up esp in this day and age. I see a lot of applications nowadays that ask for a degree, but also say X amount of year's experience can be substituted instead.

Should be a civil suit though.

Not sure how it is in IN...but shouldn't be difficult to bring up a case about it.

I'm obviously assuming it has to do with the shop that worked on it and can be talking completely out of my ass of course.

Wasn't it supposed to be a frame off deal?

I mean, I won't ask about specifics but let me just say this -

The estimate or...what you paid...did it correlate with that of a frame off job if you had it done at another shop?
