Won't work. At the very least, you would need a different spacer for each pedal. Moving the brake pedal would affect the connection to the master and would need adjusted or maybe extended.

Might be time for some platform shoes.

I just noticed with my all weather mats the pedal can't be pushed through its full range of travel.

    Are you still making these?

Personally I never had a problem using the toe on the break and rolling the top right side of my foot onto the gas to blip but I wouldn't mind having that little bit of extra up so I can get the full down.

Can the spacer be shaved to fine tune the rise and angle without affecting it's strength?

Is it a straight spacer or angled like a door stop?

I understand not wanting to give away your design so it can't be copied but I'm curious to see the final printed product to estimate it's print resolution, strength and just to know what exactly it is I would be buying.

    Thanks!

More better would be 3D printed pedal covers in different thicknesses. I love old threads. Wading through Jack ass posts gets old though.

I don’t hate that idea at all! Hmmm.

More complex to do than a spacer underneath though. Need to find someone with the know-how to design such a spacer.

Thought I posted this in this thread before but I hadn't.

Not wanting to step on OP's toes but he hasn't posted in this thread since 2019 and it is a great idea. No offence intended.

This was my solution: Pulled my gas pedal out, traced the outline of the base and mounting holes onto paper and took that to a plastic shop. Plastic shop made me the spacer out of some sort of 3/4" block of tough, non flexy plastic. Found longer bolts at home depot. Bam. Done.

I had traded PM’s with OP about a year ago about me producing a batch of these. He basically said to go for it. So, I don’t think there’s any issue there.

At the time I was having some custom CNC speaker brackets/mounts made up and the guy making those for me had said that he could produce these pedal spacers as well. The material he was using would be perfect for this sort of thing.

That being said. I’m liking the idea of the spacer being on the foot-contact part of the pedal better than the idea of spacing the whole thing out from the firewall.

It would obviously need to be very tough and solidly mounted. You don’t want it breaking or falling off of there accidentally. Especially while driving.

It would need to be designed for pedals that have been circumcised per the Toyota recall as well as pedals that are un-molested.

Assuming someone is 3-D printing these, it would be really neat to offer them in different thicknesses. Say anywhere between .5 inch and 1 inch in 1/8 of an inch increments. Or something like that. Just brainstorming here; maybe the design could be adjustable!?

I personally do not have the resources or the knowledge to produce 3-D printed stuff. I guess I’m kind of hoping that there’s somebody watching this that does and is interested in doing something like this. I am betting it can be made to work on both second and third gen trucks. That certainly promises gain more interest.

Not for our vehicle. But something along these lines would be a possibility. This particular set up uses a spacer underneath the base of the pedal where it mounts to the firewall as well as a spacer on the pedal pad. Interesting.

Another promising, albeit expensive option. A full custom set of pedal covers. Fully customizable. The deluxe set even covers the dead pedal. Different finishes and textures available. Looks like they’ll custom make them for whatever vehicle you want. This set they show for a manual transmission Corolla.

I have sent them an email inquiring about what’s involved in making these for a new application.
