There is a lot of differences between Toyota and Jeep/Dodge/Ram, and it took a long time for Jeep to build the Rubicon 392, but the history had been planted across their brands for years. The whole success of the Hellcat, Demon, and SRT is why the Rubicon 392 exists at $73,000.

It will be interesting to see where Toyota performance goes moving forward considering their last 2 performance cars have been joint ventures with BMW(Supra) and Subaru(GT86/BRZ). They don't seem to want to integrate much with the Lexus F performance into the Toyota brand, and would rather make Nightshade editions than true performance variants.

TO me personally im going to have like 700hp to the wheels so idc how light they are and if they are made out of super rare super man metal. Those rims to me look the same as all the others. Sure lighter wheels make it handle better etc etc. But that price is out of control. Kind of like Forge auto its just popular and they are hideous

New 2018 Ford Expedition takes on the World's Toughest Towing Test! - YouTube 3.8mpg uphill with the 3.5l Ecoboost. 7:58 minutes.

2018 Toyota Sequoia TRD Sport takes on the World's Toughest Towing Test! - YouTube 4.0mpg uphill. 8:18 minutes.

I ruled out the complex twin turbos at that point. Then looked at fuelly also. 16.7mpg for the 3.5l Ecoboost, 14.6mpg for the 5.7l.

I'll stay with the V8's as long as I can

I was recently reading that Porsche is producing synthetic gasoline that puts out less emissions than an electric car. Hopefully improvements in things like that will help prevent crazy governmental bans.

I think the point of a turbo is that you have better fuel economy when you don’t need the extra displacement (or in this case, power). My ecoboost had significantly more low end torque than either the Taco or V8 and held its power band for a much wider range.

I get a little better fuel economy in the city with my Tacoma vs f150, but significantly less when towing. I don’t live in the mountains, so this test is irrelevant to me and some others.

It sucks, but there is a reason why turbos and electric motors are seeing much more R&D than the V8
    :deadhorse:

I did love my 5.7L hemi, but I would probably go with something else if I had the choice.

Before everyone gets all weepy eyed over Jeep/Dodge/Ram/Chrysler/Daimler/FIAT's long and glorious Hemi® history, remember they got the design by buying DeSoto and they got Jeep by buying American Motors (which got Jeep by buying Kaiser who got Jeep from buying Willys-Overland who built 350,00 Jeeps for the the Army during WWII...Ford built just under 300,000 for the war)

And none of the above invented the Jeep either

It's kind of ridiculous the the amount of times Jeep/Dodge/Ram/Chrysler/Daimler/FIAT/Stellantis has been sold, bought, or merged. The only thing that impresses me about any of their brands is how long they have been able to milk years out of their product lineup.
