I wouldn’t call it a solution as much as a band aid, at least util 40 or so years of making and destroying of batteries takes its toll. Truth is if all humans stopped all waste one volcano eruption would change the world forever. That along with meteors is what’s always happened. We are less than a bump on a gnats ass.

Don’t forget “Cerberus Capital Management”. Ever notice that every company that owned the Jeep brand went out of business? :D I’m an old Jeep fan, owned many of them and one now.

I didn't think they would make another V8 IS, but here they are.

Would be cool of Toyota just put the 5.0 in the 4runner, Tacoma, and GX just to celebrate the end of the V8. There would be 12 month waiting list just for a v8 Tacoma. Toyota knows this. Just like they know a new FJ cruiser would fly off the lots like Chick-fil-a sandwiches. They know this, but they won't do it.

I doubt it. Especially at whatever insane price Toyota would charge. Most Tacoma drivers buy them for off-roading and practical purposes, not drag racing.

But, then again, folks line up to pay MSRP+ for the PROs, so maybe I'm wrong.

I'd rather see a more utilitarian 4Runner trim than the return of the FJ. Maybe they could do like Jeep and make a 2 door 4runner aimed more at serious off-roading. They don't need any more midsize SUV's in the lineup.

A limited edition V8 TRD pro tacoma wouldn't be a hot commodity?

I don't think people would buy a V8 Tacoma to drag race it. It wouldn't be that fast first of all.

Was the sales guy named Donny Lemonballs ? ... my sales guy was named Isaac Kappy and he spoke the truth on the hoax perpetrators. Would be awesome though ... has the Tacoma ever had a V-8 engine ? .. know the 4Runner did at one time.

I just don't think as many Toyota buyers are obsessed with oversized engines as other brands' customers. There would be a handful, I'm sure.

I suppose it doesn't really matter anyway because we all know it's never happening.

My neighbor has an old tundra that’s almost the same size as my Tacoma but has a v8. He says it’s pretty peppy. Dual exhaust and the whole rear windshield slides down like the modern tundra.

    "Lemonballs", eh ?

Nahhh..... I don't recall any V8's in the Toyota Pickup.
The big jump was to the 4.0 6 cyl from the little 4 banger of which I had two.
Coupled with 4WD with lockable hubs and a 5 speed, it dug in and pushed snow better than my F250 !

The old style Tundra was close to the same size as today's Tacoma and was available with a V8. A 4.7 if I'm not mistaken.
I thought it was much larger than the Tacoma......

"I don't need that much truck" I said at the time :smack:

They can't even design front frame rails that don't flex like wet noddles and take out the core support.

How awesome they may look and sound has nothing to do with it. Anybody with a pulse would agree a big block V8 sounds good...but that isn't gonna matter.
