Not at all. I think Rob thought I had some political issue with the subject. Nothing to do with politics or even Covid - I've had some dealings with the organization involved in my past life and am not a fan. I'd heard about the charges through another source.

The problem for us older folks is that the "office visit" as it is called, apparently consists of someone taking your temperature and blood pressure before giving you the shot. When it gets coded to Medicare - and other insurance apparently - it looks like a wellness visit or physical...and you only get one of those a year on Medicare. So, you might get charged and/or lose your annual coverage for that type of visit.

Mark: TY for the info. I have had a past issue with Medicare and it takes so long to have any problem corrected. Medicare says 45 to 60 business days to correct a problem. The time does not include weekends or holidays.

My CFO gave me the green light to purchase a pellet grill. Going to ACE hardware on Monday. FYI ACE is offering free assembly and delivery for all grills over $350 till the 31st of March.

Today's project is to assemble a John Deere garden cart and install a bracket with hitch on my son's Z345R mower. I will be assisting in more of a supervisory role. ;)

You and your CFO will enjoy the pellet grill! They make it easy to get professional results. I like mine especially for pork and chicken.
Also great to make your own jerky and try various recipes.
Let us know which grill you get.

    No Sir, you're fine. I'm a bit over-cautious since Ken's 30 ban over a gas-prices post.
Completely my misinterpretation and you have my sincere apology.

My apologies to you also Colonel.
Although something sounds wrong there for sure; like maybe the medical administrative coding is too broad/inaccurate. :notsure:

Garmin is good. LMT means "lifetime map updates and traffic" there is an LMT-S that uses your phone for traffic updates.

I've been in enough remote areas to appreciate having a Garmin when cell coverage is nonexistent. Missed having it in Montana and Wyoming, but did update google cell phone maps when we had Wifi, just have to remember.

The funniest one, I had a Garmin unit, but my rental Jeep didn't have a working cigarette lighter up front, so I typed in the address, volume on loud. Plugged into a cigarette lighter in the back of the Jeep. Off we to a customer meeting in Milwaukee, my passenger Ken called to check in on his wife. She was like "who is the car with you?" I said had Bitchin' Betty locked up in the trunk and she was pissed. You heard this voice "turn around now, do u-turn, you're going the wrong way". My customer warned me about a water main break, so they had crews out and detouring traffic so we came in a back way. Betty wasn't happy about it!

Garmin Overlander is overkill, but I like having full maps. No subscription, but I'm often out of cell range when I get the wild hair of where to stop for the night.

A little something every chance we get.
Roger that! I have Mr. Garmin in the Tacoma, with lifetime maps, and I love it. In the KIA I had, and now the RAV4, there was OEM NAV. KIA wanted $150 a year for map chips, and I told them I could buy an even better Garmin than I have with LMT for less. The RAV4 needs an update, and the dealer didn't know how, said I need a chip they didn't have, the Manual says I don't need a chip, just press buttons. But it doesn't work, and says "see dealer!". Catch 22. If I can't get it to upgrade, I will stick another Garmin on the darn display!

    Whew! You had me going!

Doctors disguised as ambulance chasers that bunch is!

    Congrats on the grill!

Probably me too, if they continue to run me in circles!

Good Saturday Morning to ya' Porchies! So, I bring the plants out, and it's what? 36* this morning! Balmy 41* in the greenhouse. Oh well, if they aren't "hardened" by now......
Of to meet some Taco folks from SA and enjoy a brewery today!

    Morning all:
One of the best maps I ever used was the state specific Delorme Atlas and Gazetteer, I think it had every logging road in Maine on it and was updated yearly.

X2! Been wanting to get in touch with him also but you know how that goes!!! :(
He will be back, I HOPE, he's not banned just a time out.

I have also seen where at some places they are charging or FREE Covid shots, that article spells out how they are getting around the FREE, good info.!

    Good morning All,

I have two Garmin GPS units. The first one I bought over 20 years ago after snowshoeing in the backcountry using a compass when we were hit with a blizzard that filled in our path and - well - you know when you can't see anything the compass is useless as all way points were white. Being in canyons with high avalanche possibilities if you get too close to the ridges (I know enough to not trust what I know about avalanches) was a little nerve racking. Purchased my first Garmin that week.

The newest Garmin has SOS that text Search-n-Rescue our location coordinates in case of an accident in the backcountry especially when hunting. It also takes the OnX chip which shows hunting boundaries (GMU's) and weather updates. We still prefer maps and compass over the GPS's (old school) - the Garmin is for emergencies and back-up in case of weather. My hunting partner is from the UP (upper peninsula in Michigan) he is a retired Army Lt Col GB, I thought I was good with maps and compass, he has taught me a lot over the years. Of course we both are not happy with the current quality of maps these days as that service has gone by the way side with all the new technology.

Don't get me wrong I love technology but I am a firm believer in knowing the core foundation of things so you can function when the battery dies... I have had some great discussions with one of my nieces who is an aviator about the need to know how the plane/jet/ aircraft handles without instruments, works for cars (no one under 40 knows how to parallel park anymore) hell that thinking works for a lot of things the new generation takes for granted. I know, it is the future, doesn't mean it is correct. When I was in HSchool when the portable calculator was being introduced (not so portable back then) but we were not allowed to use it in class, we had to rely on the slide rule and other old school tools. Sure I complained but I still know how to use a slide rule, I still know how to parallel park without the auto system (I don' know how to use that option), when I was an Assistant Coach I always had to drive the 15 passenger van because I could parallel park it even in Chicago.

Enough rant for one morning - got to get going on some projects before the next winter storm roles in tomorrow.

Have a great day and be safe

Speaking of maps/gps/nav... Apple Maps on my Iphone works well for me in cities for specific addresses. That said, last Summer we brought grandkids up for a month. Kristi decided she wanted to take them up the Haul Road to the Arctic Circle. Just to say we'd been there; we'd never been ourselves. 1st day we drove to Fairbanks and spent the night. Next day we headed north, got 45 mins outta town, lost cell coverage and I got uncomfortable not knowing how far the next feature or village was up the road. Knew we were on the right road, there's like 4 main hwys in the state, cardinaly speaking, but still uncomfortable to my military op trained mind. Returned to Fairbanks, bought an actual, real by God Atlas. Spent a day on local sites and set back out next day. Worked out perfect, taught grandkids how read a paper map. Made trip more interesting knowing names of features and elevations along the way. I won't use the gadgets outside big cities again. :)
