    I think it was said that you can get A-TRAC with just a switch to activate. The harness connector is hiding behind the panel?

    They did. One year only and hard as fuck to find.

    2009 4Runner Trail edition. It has a locking rear diff, ATRAC, and a locking torsion transfer case. I picked up a 2009 SR5 for my wife a few years ago. I looked for months hoping to score a Trail edition. I never even saw one listed. lol

    The OP has likely traded it in for Ridgeline, but he had to convince some shady dude in Rancho Cordova to swap out the diffs and transfer case to return it to stock before the wife found out. He had to soothe the wife over this, by saying stuff like he was over owning a Tacoma and wanted to explore his softer side like hot yoga and road cycling.

    Yeah, only 19000 2009's were sold in the US. Rare beast. The Limited 4th Gen V8 with full-time 4WD is sweet. Doesn't even have a 2WD option, always in 4WD. Sweet reliable Torsen center diff with 4LO and center diff lock. It's a transfer case like other models, still hangs off of the transmission, same
    $29 75W-90 Synthetic Gear Lube - 1 Quart (Pack of 2)
    75W-90 gear oil but Torsen. Very reliable. ATRAC was standard on all 4th Gen V8's but no rear locker til '09. Didn't have a VSC Off button until 2008, that sucked, had to lock the center diff or go to 4LO to defeat the nanny.

    Just read 15 pages of chit chat on a Friday night. 10% of which claimed OP grenaded his truck due to straight line dry pavement 4hi driving (compete bs BTW) and I just kept reading and reading hoping for OP to update us. Finally got to the last page and realized I've been left with one of the worse cases of blue balls I can remember.

    I wouldn't be surprised if we find OPs rig for sale on carmax right now...

    Edit:had to go back and take a mental note of those that suggested OP fubared his truck due to driving in a straight line so i can ignore their future suggestions... :)

    In studying the pictures of the rear under carriage it sure looks like the front diff may have been leaking and went dry. Sure is a lot of fluid back there for a short trip up the street.
