Thanks man! Maybe not yours, but entry level LT's I could give a good run for their money. :)

Did this to a customers truck to change from bolt in shocks to 2.5 x10 foxes. Would need a crossmember at least though.

^^^ That is some nice looking work man, I would be a happy customer no doubt..

Well after hearing all of your opinions and seeing @TRACperformance's work it gave me a few new ideas and I have decided to modify my design and switch up my game plan slightly taking into account all the information you guys have provided I think I have a good direction to go in... I will post some pictures hopefully within the next couple days of the new upper mounts once completed.. Thanks for the help and first hand experience everyone it is always appreciated

Ok I finally finished the coilover buckets today. After seeing that some of you like @jberry813 were still bending 1/4in plate I decided to modify the design and go with 5/8in thick top plate and make it so that there was no need to notch it anymore. The side plates are 1/4in with holes drilled for more welding surface and extend all the way down to the frame. The bushings that hold the bolt are 3/8 wall.

They seem pretty bomb proof I dont forsee myself bending that top plate anytime soon but I also plan on running a secondary hoop as well as a cross brace or simple engine cage that goes from the back of the top plate up over the engine and ties into the other bucket... Thanks again everybody for the knowledge it definitely helped me come up with a solid solution, Just wish the fab. guy would have done somethin like this in the first place.

do you have to run wheel spacers or do you rub at all on the secondary?

Since the other dude resurrected a 6 year old thread to ask about spacers I felt obligated to come out of my TW hiatus and ask, so you're getting 12" of usable travel out of a stock geometry Taco? Damn. I must have slept through every thread I've ever read over the last 12 years... How did you do it? I call complete BS!!!! Pictures with a tape measure please at bump and at droop respectively. Now with that being said. It's a very nice mid travel set up. Very nice. I'm not hating I just really in gods green earth do not think you're getting 1" shy of LT numbers with mid travel. 0% chance. It's amazing what our brains will convince us of when we have mid travel though. LOL again not hating. I was there once! Then when you actually start getting more advance and taking shit off and cycling shit, you realize that you were convincing yourself and rationalizing with yourself the whole time. Truck is really nice though don't get me wrong... but hey, I'm an objective person. If you show me tape measure at full bump and full droop and you're getting one inch shy of a name brand LT kit I will apologize wholeheartedly IMMEDIATELY.

    Sincerely, a concerned reader.

So I'm reading your thread and with upper and lower uniball set up you're still only getting 10.06 as you state. Which is REALLY good for a mid travel but how is that 1" away from an LT kit?

I was wrong at the time. :notsure:

You are talking about things I'm not even into anymore, and not about. The intricate measurements and geometry of the suspension system, both stock and LT are perishable skills one can forget over time. So I got nothing for you, as I have forgotten how to suspension at this point. Lol.
