I very quickly got tired of the masses in the Facebook groups constantly commenting on my various posts where I was trying to provide a decent update, with "vid?", "Video!?", etc. Because I can only explain so many times that for daily driving purposes, the turbos are actually very subtle in an OEM-feeling way. They're not super in-your-face. Sometimes even the purging is difficult to catch on camera if you haven't built up proper boosts pressure. Same for the whistles while the turbos spool.

I'm beginning to see why all those other hype videos did so well for a certain other company. The majority of 3GT owners I think really do just want to see donuts and burnouts and that's something that I just don't care about whatsoever.

It would probably have more of an effect to do a pre and post turbo video the exact same way showing the gauges, then edit them side by side so people could see the actual difference. It's not the outright performance of this turbo that is important (while still great of course), it's the difference it makes from stock. It's all about perception. There will be a lot more understanding if there is a reference.

Think about how unimpressive an outside of the car 1000hp drag race video is when there is only one car. "Most" of the time it's just a car accelerating that looks kind of fast, but nothing crazy. You put that same car beside another one at half the hp and suddenly that car seems a lot faster.

Or you could just do stupid burnouts.

I feel you. I highly recommend not posting on youtube. The Tacoma community on YouTube is trash! And yeah the Facebook groups you will be stuck answering how much mpg you get and where to buy it (even if you provide the link.) over and over.

Yeah I ended up doing a little vid that I included in the comment section as a reply to my own early basic vid review where I showed myself on the highway using 30-35% throttle to accelerate and pass people from like 70-80mph pretty quickly.

    Lol

On a real note, if you drive normally the fuel economy isn't really different from being n/a. And that doesn't necessarily mean driving like a grandma either.

Burnouts and donuts don't show performance. They just show lack of traction.'

    So dumb.

Pretty sure he likes donuts and burnouts as much as the next guy but he’s right it’s difficult to gauge real world performance thru those types of videos. I don’t know about you but I didn’t spend a good chunk of change for this kit for burnouts and donuts alone; that could be had right now with the right tires... heck my 22re powered 1st Gen 4runner could do that. Don’t tell anyone but my secret is.... Rev like heck and dump the clutch

Bah, I failed on the video today. I’ve got codes and didn’t want to take a video with codes on the dash. I’m working on my new laptop since my old one shit the bed. The newest vft doesn’t clear codes so I’m figuring out techstream now.

Long story short, I’ve got no video today, said I would so didn’t want to leave it hanging out there.

Lol! I like racing. Flooring it and going nowhere is a waste of gas and rubber to me. The Gs are where it’s at.

So does this mean more kits are available starting in April or is this update for the guys that have previously purchased the first round of kits?

Not trying to be rude I just didn’t want to be part of the growing pains I knew you’d have with this massive undertaking and I read the updates to the thread all the time so I’m excited to see when the next ones will be released for purchase :)

There is no ETA on new kits until all other orders are shipped and we have a more streamlined setup for getting some of the materials.

New fuel pump controller is working excellent.
    Firmware is complete.
We will begin shipping these out now.

Our new firmware uses a table to index duty cycle based on Frequency and time-in-frequency, to calculate an output duty on the pump

working smooth as butter. The components are also rated to 18volts and 40 amps.

The fuel pump controllers will be *tunable* for folks looking to make changes based on their own fuel demands.
