Hello 2nd genners! I have been making brake taps for those that want to add third brake lights for toppers or racks or whatever they may need a tap to the brake light for. Anyway, I have finally gotten ahold of some parts to make some of these for the 2nd gens as well. So I will be selling these for $35 for the brake tap, which is a male and female plug with two wire leads (brake + and ground) about a foot long. So extra brake lights can be added without the use of vampire clips. It is more than I am selling the 3rd gen tap for, I know. I figure you guys probably have your trucks paid off by now... Just kidding! it really boils down to the parts being more expensive and needing a few more jumpers, so a little more work for these. Now here is the cool part with the 2nd gens: Everything on the taillights runs through one connector (except turn signals), so these are easily customizable. So, if you want an extra tap for running lights or a reverse signal, just say the word. If it just a short wire lead like the brake, I'm happy to do those. If you would like one to do reverse so you can add the Meso hitch light using the Baja Designs S1, reach out to @memario1214 and he will have what you need. If you would like to have a brake tap AND a reverse tap that will work with the Meso hitch light (a wire long and pretty, terminated already to plug into the S1), I will be offering those for $10 more as well.

EDIT: I realized I wasn't too clear on the turn signal functionality of these. One tap can only do one turn signal. So if you want something that can do both turn signals (for an LED strip, auxiliary turn signals, whatever), you will need to get 2 of these. I will make one standard, and the other will have a 10' wire tapped off the turn signal. This should be long enough to go under and over to the other side, where it can join with the standard one and feed whatever you need.

So, $35 for a basic brake tap
$45 for a brake tap + Meso hitch light plug
    $10 extra shipping to Canada
$65 for 2. That includes either 2 basics, or one basic with whatever taps you want, plus a second one with a 10' long turn signal.

Since the 2nd gens have a little more going on, I am wiring the hot leads to match the OEM colors. So Blue is brake +. Black is ground.

Here is how I am going to do this: I will do these in smaller batches, every few weeks maybe 10-15 of them (they are more work, so smaller batches is less likely to burn me out)

You can just let me know here that you are interested, and I will update the list every few days. When I do a batch, I will reach out to as many people as that batch will cover via PM with further instructions. Hopefully that makes sense? Feel free to put any special request in you post as well, and I will note it. For example "I'm interested in one. Can you add a parking tap too?" or something like that. So now that I have rambled on way too long, lets kick off the interested list:

    -2. @JMcFly
-1. @Toyomonkey59 (full set) (that is how I am labeling the turn, brake, park, reverse options)

The options on these are brake (included), reverse, parking/running, and turn. Turn only would include one side, so if you wanted both sides, it would be an extra $30 (no extra to cover shipping). So if you are adding an LED strip to you bed rack let’s say, and you want it to do turn signals, let me know. It would be $65, and will do one side with a turn signal tap and make the wire extra long so you can run it to the other side with the other wires and make your connection on one side. Hopefully that makes sense? The one thing these won’t do is a constant 12v+ for a dome light or anything like that.

@Shearboy2005 would something like this be worthwhile for the s2’s?

You could add turn signal functionality or brake light functionality to them depending on what color backlight you have. I personally am doing this. I have a set theat I will be using for auxiliary reverse lights, and got them with the red backlight, so they are a 4th/5th brake light as well.

The S2’s i think are clear white spots that he threw in with the bumper i bought. Would look nice to have more brake lights though

Crap, I was thinking SSC2s (from diode dynamics). I think the S2 would probably be more amps than I would recommend pulling straight from a tap. You could use the tap to trigger a relay though. Run a 12 gauge wire from the battery, and power 5-6 pairs of them :D

I was thinking of running the reverse to a set of S2’s. If you want to do turn signals would it make sense to do 1 harness or 2? I was thinking of getting 2 just for more options. I had thought of the constant but I have that covered with power I ran to the back already.

If you want to do turn signals, you will need to do 2 plugs. If they are S2 sports, you would probably be okay as they draw 0.9A each. I would at least make sure you have swapped the incandescent reverse bulbs for LEDs though, to get some headroom on amp pull. I can do a seperate reverse from each one, but 18ga is fine to do one wire for 2 lights.

Sounds good. having one on each will give me some options I may still run one. What needs to be done to tap into them but still have them run on the switch? Can you just tap into the hot on each one?

I should have LEDs in them already and yes they are S2 sports
