Is the reason I can’t locate any tutorials on replacing the front wheel bearings on a Reg cab, 2 wheel drive Taco because it’s so simple, it’s not worth a You-Tube? Every search I do ends up showing the 4 wheel drive front end, even after using the 2 wheel drive search.

Correct Pop off the dust cover

Remove the Cotter Pin remove the lock outer lock not inner adjustment nut thrust washer

    Pop the hub off .

Things are now in front of you.

Maybe search for adjusting and packing Front Toyota 2WD bearing A thought

Packing bearings takes some practice if you have never done them before

    Thank you!!!
So it’s like all the other wheels bearings I’ve done since 1966. I guess I’m so used to things getting more complicated, I figured it would be.

2005-2015 Tacoma, 2nd Gen? That's not right. They're sealed bearings. pull the caliper off, pull the rotor off, unbolt the 4 bolts behind the hub, whole assy comes out. Throw it away, buy new. Bearing and hub are pressed together.

Why does that Summit part have 6 lugs and a spline inside? Maybe it’s for a 4 wheel drive? I have 5 lug wheels on my 2009, rear wheel drive.

    NO.

No nothing like the good old days.

That only applies to 4 x 4 and Prerunners.

The 5 luggers the bearings and seals etc are all pressed into the steering knuckle. You have to remove the steering knuckle disassemble it press out the old and then press in the new. Giant pain in the rear.

If you don't have a press you can remove the steering knuckle assembly and take it to a shop to have the bearings etc pressed out and new ones back in. Then reinstall it yourself and save some of the expense.
