I’d rather get a junkyard OEM than Napa

You guys far enough away I could change my gear oil and haul ass on the way there. I have buddy’s 06’ in the shop now and we are pulling the trans for a new clutch. I couldn’t find the 14mm deep socket so off to town we went to buy one instead of looking hard. I was up at 6:30 driving around this morning before he got here. He needs new U joints too so we are off to the Darington NAPA now. I have almost 140 miles since 9:00 last night.

Nice! I just tore mine out and got a bunch of 1" steel tube to do that but with a drawer. I need to find the leaks first though

i want to put a drawer or two in there, but with the steel its hard to do and be able to remove it. the cross bars i did front to rear bolt on. welding it all up would allow me to add more to include a drawer in there but id never be able to remove it with out cutting it out.

i might get a couple ARB drawers to put in. only bad thing, is they wouldnt be the full length of the bed but it would work.

If you used wooden 1x8 or 2x8 going down, with roller bearings spaced 1 inch apart every 8 inches or so, then used 1" bar on the side of the drawer, the whole thing would still come apart, so long as you only attached the center removable bars to the wood

Yeah I had a plan with out using wood but do t like the way I would have to do it. That’s why I’m thinking of using arb drawers. Or just use some long flat totes that I can slide in and out.

I've been thinking a lot about how to do it without wood, and not being hella expensive and weighing a ton. If I come up with something I'll be sure and share it. I kinda just wing it usually

We're trying to avoid wood. I just tore my wood one out. Enough water managed to egress to mold and warp the whole thing. While I do plan on plugging that problem, I'd like to just not have to worry about it at all. Plus steel is way stronger and more room for activities
