Love the seats. Could live without leather. But the seat heaters, and moonroof are the best features of premium package for me

Just put a deposit down on an incoming DCSB AT TRD Sport 4x4 in Army Green. Has All-weather floor liners and door sill protectors, LED Lighting, and Tech Package (PAS, BSM, RCTA).

    MSRP: 40,088
    Incentives: $2259
    Price: $37,829
    Admin Fee: $399.50
    Subtotal: $38,288.50
    Sales Tax: $3,622.15 (Olathe, KS)
    Lien Fee: $2.50
    Tire Tax: $1.00
    Total Cash Price: $41,854.15

Bank of America Offered 2.49% on 72 months. (our main bank)
Wells Fargo came back with 2.29%.
    (Putting at least 12K down).

I felt the shortage during our search as trucks don't seem to be lasting very long on the lot. I figured put money down now before more demand comes in due to the stimulus. Truck should be here in about a week and half.

First Tacoma. Decided to buy after several years of thinking about it. Really excited to get my hands on it.

    Nice--my top color choice.

How did you find out about the truck since it's not on the lot yet? Listed on website inventory? Is the vehicle at port yet?

It was listed on the website inventory.

Although, I had been calling dealerships and asking what they were getting in a month or so, they can provide you with VINs and spec sheets. However, by chance, my wife was looking at their website and found it. She got curious about why the stock picture didn't match the exterior color. Turns out it was the one we were looking for.

As to where it is right now, I'm not sure. Didn't think to ask. They just provided the estimate of between the 25th and 30th of this month.

Wow you guys are very lucky with these prices. I’m looking for a DCLB TRD OR 4x4 and 99% of Southern California dealers are marking up the trucks $3k-$5k. It’s insane. At this point I’d be lucky to pay MSRP.

Does anyone know when Toyota usually announces the next years Tacoma Models? I'm just curious to see if any note worthy updates are going to be made or not.

Have the same exact truck bought 8 weeks ago

if you want msrp look at smaller dealers in rural areas in ca

if you want large discount look midwest or northern states

If you put in the work (63 dealers I contacted), and the hours you will get a deal

    good luck

Is there any estimate when dealerships should start getting good inventory levels back in? Mine said they would order one for me and still work a discount on anything but the Pro. Feel I have better bargaining if they had inventory though.

The climate/blackout debacle in Texas shut down some plastics factories, which is having more negative effects on the supply chain for car manufacturers, especially Toyota. I heard Toyota had to pause production (again) a few days ago at various plants (including Mexico Tacoma plant, supposedly). So, the problem will get worse before it gets better. If production gets any more backed up, I can't even see 2022s getting produced on time.

Im ordering a new Taco and was asking about pricing in another thread. Got some great feedback and I did some research prior to placing my order and a member suggested
    I post my findings here.

Now this is just between the SR5 and the TDR Sport

I went to Toyota website and "built" both trim lines to my liking with as close to being identical equipped to give a fair price comparison. I will tell ya'll that many of the items listed above that are thought to be standard equipment on the Sport are actually options, albeit Toyota adds them to 99% of the trucks that are on the dealers lots, and also because certain colors automatically adds these items.

So to list a few of these (the ones that are important to me)

To get the LED front lights and the wide angle fogs for the Sport, you have to get the Technology package that adds $1285.00, again to get certain colors its automatically added, which works for me since I want Cement anyway. So just to compare to the SR5 the Technology package is only $570.00...no LED lights are available so with it you only get Blind Spot Monitor, Cross Traffic Alert (which I hate both) but it does add the color keyed rear bumper which is good. BTW this package is not required to get certain colors like on the Sport.

Both come standard with the JBL stereo and 8" Nav... there are several upgrades available for more $ in the Sport including the Premium JBL etc. The several different stereo upgrades can really shoot the price up by thousands on the Sport. The Sport comes standard with something called a Connect Package, that's unimportant to me but it comes with the push button start and wireless phone charging, both I want.

Here's a few other things that are indeed standard on the Sport. The grille is a different color and different configuration, I like the Sport grille slightly better but I will prob upgrade to the TRD Pro grille anyway. Both bumpers and the door handles are completely color keyed, I like that. It has the hood scoop which I want and was willing to buy and install on the SR5 myself, so I looked up the cost from the dealer, all in the list is $786.24, my cost is $525.33 plus paint and install. The Sport has the turn signals in the mirror, leather trimmed shiftier handle and the fog lights are wide angle, all nice but could live without. The sunroof is an option...a very expensive option which I do not want anyway even it it was no charge.

The cargo bed light ($179.00) and the bed connectivity kit ($59.00) are actually both options on the SR5 and the Sport, I want both options.

So with all this being said, I build to order each truck with appx the same optional equipment that I want and the list prices are as follows

    The SR5 $34,883.00
    The TRD Sport $37,683.00

A $2,800.00 is a real world price difference between the two that are optioned equally...so for me considering the Sports features listed above I think it would be the better choice. Let me add, that finding one produced by Toyota like the way I built it out without a bunch of BS would be impossible because they automatically add many options on the Sport to send to the Toyota dealerships. Also if you visit a Toyota dealer you will see that their inventory is depleted anyway due to the plandemic, so finding anything close to what I want is not going to be available plus with the low inventory they want full MSRP... I had planned to special order from the Fleet Department anyway to get what I want and also I can purchase at a much lower price. For those interested in the 4WD option added $3075.00 to either trim lines.

So there ya have it...hopefully this will help someone else who really wants to compare apples to apples between these two trim lines.

Checked website and it appears colors: red, green, sky silver, pearl, and super white are the only colors that must include LED headlights for 4x4 manual powertrain.

When I checked for automatic power train it didn't indicate LEDs.

Purchased my first Tacoma earlier this month, a 2021 Magnetic Gray TRD OR DCLB 4WD AT. Options include TRD OR Premium Package, LEDs, Technology Package, All Weather Floor Liners, and Door Sill Protectors

    MSRP: $44,383
    Dealer Marketing Fee: $199
    Negotiated Discount: $2,733
    Toyota Customer Cash: $500
    Price (Before TTL): $41,349

Overall, I'm happy with the deal because of the difficulty finding a DCLB on a dealer lot in one of the 3 colors I preferred and also had the options I wanted
