If the rear pads are adjusted properly and there’s no more adjustment on the rear cable then my guess is it’s stretched

Definitely an easy and basic 'mod' but it's the little things, right?

Took advantage of the beautiful weather here in Pittsburgh today by cutting down sanding down some 2x10 treated lumber. As many of you know, the little slots in our Taco's bed accommodate for a 2x; just cut your stock down to 60", taper in by 4 degrees on either side, round off the edges, and you'll get a nice a snug fit. No more Trader Joes bananas flying everywhere...

I came across a Milwaukee Packout container so I'm using it to house bungees/carabiners/cargo-net/ratchet straps. I'm quite happy with it, I'd recommend for anyone looking into a heavy duty water resistant bed storage solution. I also use it for miscellaneous hardware, rope, gloves, simple first aid kit, etc. Hooked into the bed's corner hooks with a heavy duty bike cable/lock. The cable is definitely still cuttable but at least I'll hear it happening... and the bolts holding the corner hooks in are seized beyond belief :)

That’s a very useful modification… Great job! The Toyota bedliner sure allowed to make that happen.

Have you popped out the bedliner to see what your bed is like underneath? Might be worth a peek if you haven’t.

Drove my 1st Gen to the hardware store, to buy more thinset... so I could finish another project.

Mine was missing the pivot bolt just left.of the pumpkin on the rear axle when I got. Parking rake barely worked until I replaced it.

Battery light is flickering. Besides a bad alternator, any other causes?

Loose wire somewhere, like a battery cable or on the back of the alternator.

How long do you think it takes to reset the ECU after the battery was disconnected? I went to smog it and my OBD is not reading. Everything else passed. I have put about 100 miles on it since i picked it up from the shop

If it's all good under there, give it a coat of wheel bearing grease, if you are putting the bedliner back in. Just use an old paint brush, and apply liberally to all the surfaces. Saved my bed for many years.

Thanks! Admittedly a bit too scared to do that because I'm worried about what I'll find... though the bed looks A+ from the underneath. Have a bit of scraping/minimal surface rust right at the tailgate with water run-off but otherwise I'm hoping it's clean....

At some point I'll be pulling it out to do what @Seagull233 kindly recommended though.
