    Reciprocity is a minefield.
My permit in PA (a shall-issue state) is not recognized by Maryland, for instance.
So I have to be very careful not to have a handgun in my vehicle when going into MD.
Very inconvenient since I live so close to the border.
A minor traffic stop can lead to big trouble, as their laws are what I consider to be unreasonable.
And often capricious as well, if a DA just so happens to have a hard on for punishing gun owners.

    New Jersey is another one.
I forget the details, but a woman was arrested for having a loaded firearm, uncased in the trunk of her car.
She faced charges that could have led to years in prison.
And she had a clean record at the time.

Shall issue in PA means that if you're not a felon or have a restraining order or mental health history...
...your county sheriff must issue you a carry permit upon your applying for it.
    No other requirement at all.
PA has open carry as well, but you don't often see people doing it...except in rural areas.

Legal mumbo jumbo is also there to protect you. Good idea getting the permits anyway. :amen:

Definitely agreed. National Carry Permit needed. Not knowing the laws in other states doesn't instill good feelings if I wanted to travel by car. Another google search would be required.

I don't necessarily agree to a public identifier either. Here in Texas our CCW is attached to our license plates. If we get pulled over for speeding or whatever else, I have to surrender my CCW IF I HAPPEN TO BE CARRYING IN THE VEHICLE. No weapon in vehicle, just the drivers license.

Texas just got open carry about 3-5 years ago. I've only seen a few people do it. Too many stores here have signage saying no firearms concealed or not. It would just not be worth having to run to your vehicle all the time to put it away. :annoyed::annoyed:

That's exactly why I hardly ever carry...
When I had to do bank deposits late at night after Saturday Bingo at the Club...then I carried.

    Sorry.

If I lived in Brown Bear country, I'd be thinking 10mm or .44 magnum...not .45 ACP.

Gonna be a hard no on the national carry permit. I'm a super super big fan of the 2A (I fully believe the 2A is my CCW permit). Even bigger fan of states rights. Remember, feds giveth, feds taketh away.
