I feel like I'm forgetting something.

 

Did yours come in? I ordered Sunday the 14th, got a Fedex label notice, but it still hasn't updated beyond the label being printed. I also went with Tan, 5'. Understand the snow storm last week, but was hoping I'd at least see something or get an update through the week.

Nope! I got a text msg from FedEx Friday afternoon saying they rescheduled delivery for Monday. Was really hoping to install it this weekend. First weekend I've had off in a while. Kinda sucks.

 

@jackn7 at least that sounds like yours got on the road! Fedex still shows me "Delivery date may be adjusted when Fedex receives the package"

 

Colorado got slammed by a few storms lately. So any shipments out of there are delayed pretty good. When in NM for work, several fast food places were closed because they get their trucks from Denver; and the trucks hadnt made it yet.

 

Totally Understand, my family lives in Denver. I was asking JackN7 simply because his order timeframe was very similar to mine, and it sounds like he has shipping information while I'm still waiting on Fedex to pickup. Not upset or bothered, just curious.

 

Just installed my topper yesterday. Still need to adjust it a bit/ weather proof the seams, but I'm really liking it so far!

 

Mine is stuck Dumont, CO according to the update from FedEx.
Edit: It's now in Nevada. I guess they were able to get out in between snow storms. Hopefully stays on schedule and delivered tomorrow.

Get a small paint brush to apply seam sealer. The brush on the bottle is useless. Lay out the topper and get a good layer on the seams, and saturate the straps.

Never thought about using a cargo net. That's a pretty good idea! I have an old bed net I used on my first gen. Hopefully that works. From what I can tell the interior dimensions of the first and second gens are pretty much identical.

 

If it is too big just fold it over on itself. I have a short bed so I have it doubled over on one end.

 

And how did you like it? How long does it take to set up and take down? Thinking about using this for my "overlanding" trips with my kid

 

It’s a good alternative to a ground tent and takes only about 10 minutes for setup. Held up to multiple hail storms, 28 degree weather, and crazy wind. Bought the Large one on Amazon, but it didn’t come with the frame that Softopper provides with theirs. Ended up making my own frame using some 1/2 inch pvc piping and elbow joints. There are gaps in between the Softopper and tent but as an overall tent, I’ll continue to use it. 7/10.

 

Mine was delivered Friday Supposed to get some warm days this week. Im a Jeep guy, I know about messing with soft tops in the cold vrs warm weather. Definitely going to save my stress for a warmer day. Looking forward to having it installed.

Just got a note from Softopper, they have a clamp shortage and are holding orders. Unfortunately I'm out of town most of April so looking for a creative solution to at least get the Topper shipped and installed as the multiple trips were a part of why I ordered.

Any chance anyone has extra clamps they're willing to loan/sell? I'd even trade (When Softoppers replenishes and ships em out)
Open to any other suggestions or experiences also!
