Mark, if Medicare denies payment, the provider cannot bill the patient. My wife has that happen every time she gets a carotid check, because for whatever reason, Medicare never approves that procedure. Other procedures also, but that’s just one example.
Here’s a question perhaps someone can answer: What is the proper billing code for the COVID shot itself? And would that code be on a statement sent to the patient, or only to the government?

Been in tech all my career. I am actually scaling back. I'm down to 3 computers and one smartphone

About pots and Luddites, what's the general opinion here about pressure cookers? My mother used hers often, and I use mine almost as much as she did, but nobody I know uses them. Are people afraid, or just not knowledgeable about them, I don't know. They've been around like forever, but the kids these days seem to use slow cookers a lot, which seems just backwards to me.

 

I'm still waiting for technology to catch up to me. It's getting better, but too primitive for some things.

 

We use old school one for canning salmon. The modern day version is the instant pot. We have one, I like the way it cooks chicken and rice type meals. Young airmen at work use them to do what they call meal prep; basically they cook whatever protein(s) they're eating that week with rice or pasta and veggies. They make enough various meals to last them the work week. It's generally part of the time management they all seem to be doing.

 

iPhone (or smart device) and stream.

I just googled instant pot... It'd take me forever to figure out those dials and whizzbangs, so call me old school too. I'd like to be real old school, but the gaskets available today for the older ones don't fit properly, so my old Presto aluminum pot is in retirement in the loft. My newer stainless steel Presto has only one pressure cap, I think probably 7 lb, because it takes longer to cook than my old pot with 3 different pressure cap positions. Someone reading this is likely to comment on aluminum cookery, so in anticipation of those views, I'll agree in theory, but hell, I'm still here and I've been using aluminum pots all my life.

 

It was a funny. I know what an I pod is, just another device to tune out the world. My kids used to get my Irish up with their Walkmans.

 

I was brave and got an InstaPot for the wife as a present. (Still alive, you might note). She loves it, it's not hard, recipes abound, and it really makes a hell of a beef stew in less than 1/2 hour! With the mashed potatoes inside too.

Got my 1st shot (Pfizer) yesterday at Foxwoods casino. It was very well organized and everything went very smoothly.
Did my 40 pushups when I got home. Scheduled for 2nd shot on April 10th.
