Favorite Whiskey?

$85 for an airline bottle size Yama 12! Full size can be had for $120. Yikes.

 

Had a fabulous whiskey tasting last night. I had Eagle Rare for the first time, and damn is it easy to drink. I also thoroughly enjoyed Little Book. Honestly though, there wasn’t a bad sample in the lot.

 

How does it work when they send this out? Do you get to choose and buy any you want??

 

Take rum over whiskey any day. Lol but I have been liking the Iwai Mars whiskey

 

Got a good deal this weekend. $26 trace and $49 EC. Military exchange is awesome for these tax free.

 

How is that peerless I keep seeing it at my local BevMo

 

I enjoyed it. Found it to be smooth and easy to drink.

 

Never had the Peerless rye, but the bourbon is excellent if a little "hot"

 

I rank them from 1-16 and they have a drawing, if my name gets pulled then they look at my top pick, if it's available I get it. If someone else got my top pick then they go to my #2, etc. I'm not sure how many thousands of names they pull, but it's sure to be a lot with a chain as big as they are.

If this wasn't a raffle ticket bottle last year then I wouldn't have bought it. Seems too gimmicky to me... but I must admit that this is unique and easy sipper.

Found this today, super stoked! The last one I liked so much it didn’t last long. Also, I still don’t like Clyde Mays, even after letting it sit for awhile

 

I really enjoy the Jefferson’s. Extremely easy to drink.

 

Traveling for work and just found all the Pappy’s and other unicorns at a bar in SLC.

If there are any other collectors out there.. this bottle is out there now... Not in my area of course

 

Why is this collectible? Is it the slightly higher ABV, or smaller volume? There are so many marketing terms out there I'm always skeptical...

 

It's simply a marketing thing really.. and that's a European bottle which is why it's only 700ml instead of 750...

A few years ago they started a Legacy Edition series to pay homage to older labels etc. The one pictured is #3 in that series. The alcohol inside isn't anything special.. it's the same in all the bottles that are considered "special editions" .

It's nothing special except to those of us that collect Jack Daniel's. I know there's a few on here so I thought I'd share.
