Well, as I find myself sitting here watching MNF I can tell I am getting sick... That being said, what do you do to get over illnesses?

Usually takes me about a week to get over a cold. The best thing I can do is to sleep or rest. I am always taking an OTC allergy med, so I usually keep with that. If I'm not already, I begin using the Neil Med nasal rinse twice a day. I also start taking airborne or it's generic form when I start getting a cold. Then I supplement with cold medicine like contact, mucinex, real sudafed, or tylenol. My goal is to keep it from becoming a sinus infection which requires a doctor visit and an antibiotic or steroid.

I had a cold recently and went to the doc before it could turn into an infection. Got a prescription for some nasal spray that's a cortisteroid. I used to use the same stuff a long time ago. Man, it makes a huge difference in my allergies and sinuses when I use it daily. I'm not sure why I ever quit using it other than it's $60 a refill. Hope you get over it quick.

    Usually I sleep, sleep, sleep.

I used to not care, coming in to work and it just prolonged my sickness.

Sore throat: pour honey and lemon into a teacup and microwave it, it will make your throat feel better than taking halls.

cold/flu: Nyquil and plenty of sleep

When ever I feel a sore throat coming on I gurgle listerine as far back as I can in my throat without choking on it. I do it bout every 2 hours when home.

I agree with nofords08, my parents are from Laos and over there, there is no nyquil and stuff like that...so as kids when we get a fever my mom would wrap us in blankets and make us sweat it out...

Zicam, but you need to start taking it right at the onset of a cold.

It is a zinc-based homeopathic medicine.

I have avoided many colds by hitting this stuff early and often.

I think I almost if not got like pneunomia or something this last month because i was sick for a week but i had a cough that lingered for well over a month. Either that or laryngitis. I don't know, gargled mouthwash to kill what ever baddies was in the back of my throat, and it helps too. alcohol kills! :D
