I'm leaning towards the spacers, especially since adding the roof rack. I feel like it needs a little wider base now, but I don't like the heavy protruded look either. I think 3/4" hub centric spacers would be ideal, but I have zero experience with spacers, even when I had my Nissan truck years ago. I hear the factory studs will poke a little, but do you think that will be a problem with the TRD Pro wheels?

General consensus is spacers cause early wheel bearing failure. This has not been proven through a controlled study as everyone uses their taco differently. One thing is get a quality brand spacer like spidertrax.

To each their own but I think the offset of the TRD rims you have on now is plenty. I'm biased though with a similar truck and rims

I think your truck looks pretty good as is. Push the tires much further out and tires sling crap over the side of the truck much easier.

I wouldn’t do the spacers for cosmetic reasons alone. And spacers wear bearings no different than wheels with more negative offset.

If you do opt for a set get some quality hub centric BORA or something similar. I don’t advocate for Amazon specials.

If you have recesses on the back of your wheels between the stud holes then you should be fine to run spacers. The spacer studs get offset to the OEM studs so the OEM studs fall in those recesses. If however your wheels don’t have recesses and the studs stick out past the spacer, then that’s a no no.

Thanks for all the info! I think I might stay on put where I'm at now based on what everyone has said. I would like for a tad bit wider stance but not at the expense of something else. I'll probably just wait until I get new tires down the road.

I'm with everyone else. Only reason I run spacers is to clear 285's and too cheap to buy wheels with proper offset. Otherwise they just don't do much other than sling more mud on your truck.

Don’t do spacers if you do any 4x4 driving.... if you want it wider stanced get rims with a bigger offset.

I do just minor trail riding, so I'm not overly concerned with extreme torqueing or sheer forces. I understand that hub centric spacers basically eliminate this issue though, unlike regular old school flat spacers. Anyways, I still haven't ruled out the 3/4" completely, but I'm now leaning towards just forgetting about it. I love my wheels so I don't plan on changing them out.

I wouldn't go any thicker than 3/4", in fact if they made a hub centric 1/2" spacer, I would definitely do it.

I run 3/4" BORA spacers. No issues for many years. However, my front left wheel bearing is on it's way out at just over 80k miles... could be the spacers, could not be. No way to tell really.

I have spacers on my 2nd gen and enjoy the way they look with 285/75r16 paired up with them. I also wheel my truck fairly hard and so far nothing has broken. Maybe I've just been lucky so far. :notsure:
