Howard Stern Fans?

I might give it a try on Monday, since I'm working from home still and kids will be at school, and the Mrs will be teaching from school as well.

 

Didn't have a chance to try and call in... never got caught up from last week, and work was a bit busy.

But finally finished the shows from last week, and now listening to yesterday's. Already on the Drew Barrymore interview part of the show.

 

I skipped her, just didn’t care.

 

Just started listening to Tuesday's show.

Ronnie has been on a roll the past few shows. Can't wait to see what happened on Tuesday.

 

if i recall, its on par with the rest of his appearances.

 

She was actually a decent interview. I tend to skip interviews unless I'm interested but I happened to catch her semi live and thought it wasn't too bad.

 

Finishing up Wednesday's show right now.

Liking the interview with Tom Morello so far. Almost done.

 

No live this week.

I figured there wouldn't be when he mentioned wack pack history that he is airing on 101. I hate when I can listen live and they're off. Oh well...

Anyone want to predict a big event that will happen while they're off?

 

A celebrity usually dies. They had a death pool a while back, i don't know if they still have it.

I used to be a fan of Howard’s but he just became like the rest of the bunch. He called it maturing into a real interviewer but he forgot what got him there along the way. He forgot how to be funny. He is a great interviewer but so is Oprah I don’t watch her either.

 

Welp, this thread ain't for you then. We're all lifelong and current fans. He has definitely matured, but the humor you used to like is still part of the show; however, you'd have to listen to know that. I actually like the interviews the least and enjoy the other stuff (bits, show banter, games, etc) the most. Interviews, when they happen, at most are 1/3 of the show. The no interview shows are my favorite.

Yeah the banter and nonsense is what I miss most. I haven’t listened in a couple of years. I listened to the show for 20 years or more but with constant vacations and only working a few days a week I just moved on. Oh and the crap of SiriusXm to put up with it got to be too much. I still say he is the king of all media and has done more to keep radio relevant than any other jock. I still like reading the thread it is some nice memories when people start quoting the show. I say enjoy it while you have it, he is aging and won’t be around forever and I haven’t heard anyone that even comes close.

 

Right on. We're use to random people coming in and saying stern sucks, not the intention of the thread, and us telling them to keep moving. Now that you responded above, you're not one of those people, which I thought you were at first. My apologies.

Yup, he just resigned for 5 more years. This may be the last 5 years of his dynasty. So, we'll enjoy it while we can.

 

No lol I am a fan. I just feel he has mellowed out so much and I understand since I’m nearly 50. But probably the thing that really did it for me was Sirius xm and their billing dept. One day I got a bill and I had paid for two years of service. I called who knows where and the guy argued with me and said I had to pay or they would cut me off. After a couple of weeks of arguing with the idiots I said turn all my radios off and refund my money. That was 4 units and an American supervisor called me and made a bunch of offers but I was pissed and it was too late. They sent me a check.

 

Thats too bad. Let that frustration go, and get a promo deal again. Every year I tell them I'm not paying more than promo. They transfer me to cancel department, who then offers me a promo deal, and then I pay for a year again. Been doing it annually since he went to satellite. 15 minutes on the phone with them a year is totally worth the hassle for me.
