I’m bummed for ya. Sorry man.

As you’ve seen, I’m actively working on my own solution. I’m very close to having it up and running.

That project is sooooo awesome. Unfortunately I don't have the bux to follow your trailblazing path at the moment.

They've got enough of a shit customer service reputation now I'd be beating a dead horse.

And I won't give a second chance to a product that failed so quickly unless they covered all costs and time, which they won't.

If you want to try the Tilton unit, I can help. It wasn’t too spendy.

It looks good, I just assumed it wouldn't easily install but if it can I'd give it a try.

    Which model was it?

I’ll get you all the numbers. I doubt that you’ll be able to just order off the site. You’ll need to piece it together with a couple different part numbers. The bearing will come from elsewhere.

I still have my RA trans here. Hmmm.

Definitely interested. Tilton seems to have a good reputation.

At this point I don't have a failure, but my TB is squeaking after about 10k miles. I'm also hearing a rattling noise when coasting. I think its gear noise, but I have ever noticed it till hear recently. I get a stiff pedal after long drives in warm or hot weather. It only happens for the first press after a long dive then its normal again. The squeak is my biggest issue with it. Just sharing my experience.

I know old thread but my quill also sheared off. I was under the impression that cm centered around quill, with none of quill left would cm part work? I know many reported issues but I’m weighing at replace Trans @$3000 used or $500+- for running truck that might eventually leak. Pretty much no lip to hold onto

Would it be possible to find a bell housing for cheaper instead of replacing the trans?

From what I’ve seen bell housing not just unbolt-able, would need to disassemble starting from rear and working forward

was planning on cleaning that some too. I know anything I do short of replacing trans could just be a band aid. These trans are just outrageous even for salvage, can’t believe I’ve bought a different trans from picknpull for $75 but these trucks could be $3,500 for junkyard trans

a lot of bad ass stuff
The bell housing had to be replaced in result of the quill breaking off. I don’t recall the cost of the bell housing now but it wasn’t over a grand. I also had a local shop do my repair and install the kit. So they sourced all the bell housing and I bought the CM bearing kit and URD clutch kit that I went with. Sorry for your breakage.

This one looks like a goner I’m afraid. That input shaft looks pretty bad. What’s the last 8 digits of your VIN? Where are you located?

If you dig early on in this thread, you will find that I am running this CM set-up without the quill in my bell housing

Lemme see what I can do.

Are you interested in a direct replacement? Or are you looking for (RC62F) bonus points?
