Our photography meeting went well, the guy even admitted here sit through and watch these montages with cringe royalty free music.
Guy was down to earth and really I was just a fly on the wall anyways.

Wonder if I can bring the bike for those early morning wedding photos! lol

what part of co? i live in colorado springs and have been leaning towards going to grand junction and fruita around then for a weekend of riding.

canon city will have dry trails along with the pueblo area, but that pretty much the other side of the state (we dont talk about the eastern plains, thats pretty much kansas)

you might get lucky with denver area trails, (erie, ffloyd hill, golden).

lower elevation in BV may be ridable, but not really destination worthy.

i saw some durango groups head down to farmington, nm, for some riding and kind of makes me wanna head there. not co but kinda co

My only experiences out west have been in Durango, Sedona, SLC, and Park City. I'm primarily interested in 10-20 mile loops that have the most "epic" scenery (to refresh my zen bank). Unfortunately, I only have a single day to ride in each state -- one day in CO, one day in Southern Utah -- before I have to head south and report for a few months of military duty in southern AZ.

I'm bringing my Transition Spur, so bike parks aren't really an option. I also need to find decent campsites near each location. I'm willing to pay for shuttles if I have to, as well.

Other than that, I don't have any other restrictions, so anything in southern CO, Moab, or St. George would be on the table. What two trails/loops would you choose?

I will double-down on my recommendation to do as much of Enchilada as you can. Try to snag a campground here and book a shuttle to go as high up as they'll take you. There are other areas to camp, but that spot is super sweet since you finish right at camp.

The spur will crush all of those. :)

It probably would, at least to some extent, but I still prefer longer travel bikes on the very rare occasions I hit a bike park. These days, I definitely don't send it like I used to...lol #gettingold

Grand Junction/Mack area in western CO. Can’t remember what loop this was because it was last fall and I’m old. Might be Mary’s? Regardless great area with lots of riding.

I’d also recommend what @SenatorBlutarsky said about doing as much of the enchilada as you can. Really great scenery, decent technical riding with only one spot that I had to walk down. It was a blast. I liked Moab better than Sedona but it was still great too.

idk if pricing mistake, but LBS checks out in Indiana per the google..

Silca Torque Set I bought vs others pricing.

edit. It was a pricing error. Their site now shows it for $100

What are your thoughts on clipless setup for enduro/downhill? I was looking at the shimano AM shoes with their matching pedal. Brazil has all difficult climbs to the downhills and all the good riders are using clipless. I currently use fiveten with the downhill shimano platform pedals.

Going to do my first evening/night ride with the local area group today.

maybe it’s just me but does anyone else get nervous riding with new people?

From what I understand, Sam Hill is just about the only EWS racer on flats.

My two cents... if you've got some difficult/technical climbing then go clipless, if you're primarily decending then go flats. If you're unsure, try both and ride whichever makes you feel more confident.

Yes, but only because I'm the slowest in the pedaling sections lol.
Everyone should be cool, just be upfront with everyone on your ability. They won't leave you behind.

I want to try clipless one day, but now I'm too invested in flats with Chesters and Impact Pro Shoes.
I love flats, but I wish I was better at getting the perfect foot position every time as soon as foot hits pedal.

Oh I know they’ll be cool, most everyone I have met has been. I just don’t know what category I fit in haha.

they have 2 groups they split into. 1 does the green/blues on top, and the other group does the harder stuff off the side of the mountain. I’ve ridden it all. Just not as fast/skillful as a lot of folks, and I stuck at getting back to the top for another run. So am I intermediate?
