Years ago on another ride, I did the removal till inspection, then install till after the inspection. After a couple years it got old quick. So I just left it on. Sucks it does, but did wanna hear shit for not having it. Even had one shop try to sell me a new one (sway bar) with install to pass said inspection at a tune off $400. They got the F.U. buddy and I got the Ghostbuster sticky.

Looking at your transfer skid and mine, there's a difference. Did I miss something and use the wrong holes to mount up to the mid-skid?



There were four long bolts that I swapped out the factory bolts with where the mid-skid mounted to the cross bar. I tied the transfer case into those as the mid-skid would not go up any further.

 

Your transmission skid should be pushed upwards using that lower set of holes.

Snap! It looks as though the cross member blocks it from going up any further. I'll check again. Thanks.

 

You may need to losen the front bolts where it joins the IFS skid but it should go up to be flush with the tcase skid.

 

If there’s the big X gusset in the way, you’ll need to trim that. Usually people order the skids as a set and Joe will weld the gussets on accordingly, whether or not the X gusset will hit the crossmember or not. So if you order a set with stock exhaust, the transmission case gusset is different than if you order the set with a reroute, if that makes sense.

 

Sure does and it has the X gusset hence the reason it won't go past the cross member but I don't recall that being an option when ordering the trans skid. So how do you recommend I trim the gusset and will I need to reinforce it somehow? Perhaps @Mojo Jojo can give me a hand...

 

No need to reinforce it since it'll be shoved against the crossmember. I had to trim mine and I just used an angle grinder and touched up with some paint. Took less than 10 minutes.
