Tacoma - OVTUNE - VFTUNER - Update Info and Original Development

You can go to the dealer, beg, plead, and sacrifice your first born to get them to do the update. Alternatively, you can do it yourself with Techstream and the download link in my signature.

It should work fine with that version but I would very strongly recommend updating to 04b04 before using credits to unlock that ECU ID. You can update with the Toyota TechStream software. Don't think you can update with VFTuner, but not sure on that.

I doubt you will be disappointed. The trucks should have come from Toyota with OVTune.

Previous user trying to work through the new process. Didn't want to flood their help desk so asking here.

Trade in my old Tacoma for a new one. Registered and updated the new VF tuner software and added the VIN of the new truck. Bought a new tune pack so I could tune the new truck. Received the order confirmation email. A little unsure where to go from here though.

From the OVtune website and order confirmation email it sounds like since this is a software only purchase there should be a link to where I can select my current ECU and download the tune pack for it. Not seeing a link in my order confirmation email or the VF tuner instructions though. Does this come in a second email or do I download these tunes through the VF software?

 

You're close. You just need to send a request to OVT for the Tune Pack that you want. The latest available for the 2017s is 04B04 (AT) and 04B14 (MT). Be sure that your Stock tune is updated to those for the best tune experience.

I currently have the old Orange Virus tune with the Toyota flash manager. The last time I tuned my truck was last May. Any options for these Tacoma owners on VF tuning

 

You can upgrade to vftuner for $79, or wait until the new, non-vf flash tool comes out.

 

Due to the high volume of orders and inquiries, there may be some delay getting to non essential tickets.
There has just been surge after surge of people wanting to tune their tacomas now.


Want to apologize for anyone waiting. It's a very odd start to the year. Way more orders and inquiries than expected.

I don't. From prior posts, it looks like the big update will come out for vftuner first, then the new non-vf. But there was no timeline given.

 

@OVTune Hello Mat , would you give us an update on when the final performance/towing/tune switching tunes are going to drop ?
