This is the Torin/Kirkland box I had prior. If anyone finds one of these for $500 or less I suggest you buy it. They are outstanding boxes for the money!
I paid $600 for it from Costco then it went on sale so they gave me $100 back. I used it for a few years then sold it for the $500 I was invested because Costco discontinued it. The guy that got it was excited he found it.

With all that. This little Matco box is my go to and the one I keep the tools I use 90% of the time in. Found it for $700 locally 8 years ago or so. Great little box.

But I purchased a used Snap On in nearly new shape for less than a comparable US General setup would cost new. Again, not knocking the HF boxes. I just do not buy anything from HF so it is not an option for me. For others it might be the best way to go. I just do not feel it is.

Huh? They hold their value but you got yours for pennies on the dollar.

I didn’t get my US General boxes for resale or investment purposes. I got them because they’re an exceptional value. An outlier for HF baseline quality.

I wouldn’t get any electrical or complex tools there.

I hope your wrist has healed with no outstanding issues.

Why can’t you let this go? This is simple. My box cost someone $10k new. I paid $1,500. I know I can get more for my box than I paid for it. You try and do the same. Also, I have said nothing bad about US General boxes overall. They are not my cup of tea. My opinion differs from yours. It is okay, you will not change my mind because you disagree with me.

I've got one. Absolutely worth it. I don't miss the C-clamp method.

Absolutely agree. I do a lot of brakes as all the shops around here think it's worth a grand to do a simple brake job. My father in law knew I was busy and got his brakes done at a local shop, not even a dealer and they charged him $1,300 for brakes and rotors on a 2003 Silverado several years ago. What places charge for brakes around here is criminal. Due to that I typically do 10-20 brake jobs a year. I picked up one of these from Napa and would never think of going back. Sometimes on larger 1 ton trucks I have to pull the old c-clamps out but very rarely.
    https://www.napaonline.com/en/p/SER...DSGOgvjN-9cN3FqGzkIoFgKQI1DG6uRoCKZ0QAvD_BwE&

Also, if a neighbor ever ask you to do brakes on a Mercedes G Wagon tell them to get fucked! Dealer wanted almost $6k. Parts were a little over $900. I reluctantly agreed and because of the multiple solenoid's and a few specialty tools required. Lets just say it got done but I was over 8 hours into it and got lucky that the system reset itself without being reprogramed. I was provided a $40 bottle of whiskey for my trouble. I do not work on Mercedes anymore!! LOL, or on that neighbors stuff at all for that matter. To top it off I think the neighbor drank at least $60 worth of my whiskey watching me do it. FML...

The one thing I ask for when my wife was looking for a house was a 3 car garage. I got it but one bay is my man cave. My wife parks in the middle and that is where I work on stuff and the 3rd bay gets overrun by all of the wife's overflow. We erected a covid decon table this time last year that has become a buy whatever you want and stack shit on it table. I need to take some time to reclaim my space or it will be lost forever.

Decided to go with the cheap harbor freight mitre saw. I don’t do a lot of wood projects so this should be fine for the little bit I’ll use it.

Slow down, I figured I could have at least one response to your two from my earlier post... I'm all set.

Thanks for providing the deets on your deal. Helps put things in perspective.

3 car is the way to go. my girl parks in the middle of the 16' wide garage. i park in the single garage. She also drives a small car so that helps. I can get to my tool box, work bench without any issue. Man cave is also where its at!

No worries. Glad your HF boxes worked out for you. To each his own. I have admitted several times on here that I am a total brand whore so my advise comes with that in mind.

Anyone mowing the lawn with a zero turn can probably get away with whatever compound miter they want. Nice mower. I have been impressed with the Ridged brand tools from Home Depot. That is what I buy for all my cordless stuff and construction tools. You can get good deals around the holidays on that stuff too.

Hahaha yeah had to upgrade my mower last year for something bigger. I have 5 acres I mow every week.

    Tested the saw out
On a scrap 4x4. Cut great. Should work good for my upcoming project.

I grew up in VA and had a lot to mow. Now I can mow my yard in 20 min including trimming and drinking two beers. I have a commercial echo weed eater like I used to use back home and I wash and wax my Husqvarna walk behind a couple times a summer. My neighbors think I am nuts and my wife laughs at me because my suburb homies have a electric crap and I have commercial shit to mow my tiny lawn. One day I will get a zero turn and will mow my yard in 5 min! Some nerd from SF just bought the house next to me and he has a battery operated mower and wears ear muffs when operating it. I am so out of place here!

My wife likes to say shit like "sorry we can't make it. Jay has to wax his lawnmower tonight" just to fuck with me. I am envious of your mower bud. Well done!!

Jealous of you guys with 3 car garages. If I want to even approach the concept of an older house with a 3 car garage, I’m spending $1M on the minimum.

I’d suck the devils dong for a 2 car garage and a small shop that’s roughly the same size.
