There is a 27 acre tract that is at the front of the Neighborhood that is being bought by MI Homes who will probably drop 100 little starter homes on it. Neighbors are PISSED. A bunch of them got together to try to buy it last year but the main backer (owner of CPI) backed out after they lost a bunch of business. I'm at the far end of the street and not technically part of the neighborhood so don't really have a dog in the fight, but fun to watch.

I may still have my masonry bits for doing that. You going 1" line? If the lines are going to be exposed to the outdoors I'd put a frost proof spigot on the supply to the shower

I think @jlemmond usually goes north to Currituck/Corolla, and I don't think there is much if any camping there. Between Memorial Day and Labor Day you have to purchase a "parking permit" for Corolla if you want to park and hang out, otherwise you can drive around all you want.

On Hatteras, you need a permit to drive on the beach year-round, it is $50 for 10 days or $120 for annual. The national park campground are cheaper with decent bath houses. The private campground spaces cost a lot more but some have water and power at the tent sites.

You can just do what the previous owner of my house did with the outdoor rainwater system and run all 1" pvc pipe, and "insulate" it with some of that cheap foam pipe insulation:rofl:. Made it 4nights below zero until it went tits up

I think by code all new spigots have to be those self draining, freeze proof. HW/CW will run down as shown so I'll probably put inline shut-offs about where that circle is so I can shut it off and drain it down before first frost every year.

Yes... they will list the vehicle as
“Recreational “ and it will lower your rates a bit. I’ve done that with mine since I have a work vehicle for commuting.

You can also drove out on the beach at Carolina beach. They have two locations. One (City owned park maybe) allows overnight camping.

Ain’t that the truth. Pissing away $20k a year for rent is stupid. @SearArtist is about to be rich!

Ahhh.... I’ve never ridden much off road. I ride mostly road with a little gravel riding once in a while.

on a side note, I think we finally agreed upon an area where we want to move. Still in BFE, but good schools for the girls.
