    So I have been where you are at in this process. While Mt. Bikes are not my current reality this has worked great for me. Half length draws and a full width, half length forward compartment with hinged lid. It holds all my gear and it was less than $400.

    When I’m running light I do this. Canopy and toilet and shower room. Canopy and shower room was less than $400

    When we are in full camp mode we have a Napier sportz tent that connects/disconnects to/from back of truck tent was less than $400

    All this gear fits in box including bedding, water, cooking utensils, lighting, stove, fuel, and food. I know it’s not a camper or a trailer but was a fraction of the cost and allows me to grab and go when just me or add some conveniences for my wife when she comes along. BTW she now loves this and is okay not having the trailer just yet...
