As the title say, how parrallel to the direction of travel do bake controllers need to be. I got a new tekonsha P3 and I got it mounted but I can tell I’m a tiny bit off with being parallel to my direction of travel. Will this be okay or should I readjust it so it’s perfect.

there should be a page or paragraph or picture in the instructions for the allowable angles.
Some are very strict some not so much.

So you mean tilted forward, tilted to the side, or yawed? P3s are fairly generous with forward tilt. I'd still keep it under 45 degrees, just because.

I forget the allowable degree of yaw, but I don't think there's a lot of tolerance on that one. I don't think there's any tolerance on side tilt either.

it would be yaw. I don’t think it’s that much because unless you really look at it you probably couldn’t even tell that it isn’t straight.

Okay I’ll look closer tonight. This is my first ever brake controller so I read the instructions pretty throughly.

Get the Redarc.... it doesn't care. Self calibrates with internal sensors.

<edit to doh!> Just realized you already have one and are asking questions about it. My bad.

The REDARC Tow Pro Liberty/ Elite control box can be mounted in any orientation. It uses axis sensors to calibrate as you begin driving.
