It's not that bad, Excel is like Photoshop..you can learn the basics which are easy and what most average Joe needs to know, or you can take a deep dive into the wizardry within which could take awhile.

Got a formal offer for one contractor here in town. It's an "IT Support Analyst" position with a $43K salary. I'd be traveling some and be required to drive my personal vehicle up to 1-3 hours away at times. No co-workers scares me, but I would have a group conversation with techs at other locations. Plus a direct supervisor.

Right after my interview this morning (final interview and formal offer same day) I got an email requesting a screening interview for a contractor at the local air force base. I'd be a network technician and make around the same salary. I'd drive to the base for the day and not have to travel. The office would have 6-7 guys I'd be able to work with and learn from. But my conflict is the first job wants a response to their offer be Wednesday. If I do get an offer for this networking job I doubt I'll have it by Wednesday. Not sure how to proceed.

I've been there before. I came to the conclusion you take the bird in the hand and if the two in the bush comes through or gives you a better feeling you switch.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking. With the alternative being unemployment or moving back to my hometown I should probably take the offer. Wild that I'm hearing back from 3-4 different applications all at once.

Who ever had to fight a bolt for 8 hours? Me and a awesome friend had that on the ram. 8 hours on a upper trailing arm bolt. Thing kicked out asses but we finally got it out. 3 more to go. This happened on Sunday. Truck is still not done. It's at his house until we get it finished.

Always seems to happen that way haha, I was in the same position earlier this years and out of nowhere I heard from multiple places at once and I had two offers the same day within an hour of each other

I know the basics, it's just trying to keep it organized in a way my professors are gonna understand it too.

I had to grinder wheel off my front shocks from them being rusted and stripped on the ram I had. Thank god the slug came with not even surface rust

Torched the bolt, impacted it, torched it some more, just spun lmao

On the topic of jobs, haven't heard from the NASA contractor gig today which after the Thurs interview and weekend, probably safe to assume they went with someone else.

No terribly surprised nor upset, was never fully on board with the pay cut or big on the relocation to the desert idea. As such I didn't follow up with them or do much to make them think I was enthusiastic about it.

After talking to my wife this weekend her business needs time to recover from 1 year of being closed due to Covid and me making almost half what I make now would put the hurt on us.

Happy for you man, that's a good conundrum to have after how it was last week or so. I agree with taking the one currently on the table. If the other comes back and makes a better proposition you can always go from there.

As someone who also works with no co workers most days, it's not so bad... You learn to converse with yourself ...
