I always treat myself after passing smog every two years, I've got the right certs for my supercharger and headers but the URD 7th injector is most definitely a fail-on-the-spot mod in CA.

Luckily they just haven't noticed it lol. Or have any idea what it is. Still makes me sweat a little each time though.

Would you replace the expansion plugs?

Only if you're confident in your ability to replace them. They look scabby enough that I'd want to replace them, but it's not really a fun process.

I was using Phillips head bolts but it was a PITA but the Allen bolts are so easy to deal with. I wanted to go black bolts and swap out the little brackets for black too but black Allen bolts always seem to rust.

From what I’ve seen it looks simple enough. Use something like a flat head screwdriver to knock it halfway in and pull it out with pliers then TRV the new one and tap it in with a seal punch.

    Am I missing anything?

No meth either, there's no CARB approved meth kit for our trucks that I know of anyhow.

Yeah the fuel line for the 7th is really all that stands out, so I just wrapped it in black electrical tape. Once dirty it looks like any other vacuum line in there

I didn’t see any pinholes in the crossover pipe, but by judging by the look of the center plug and the manifold gaskets it probably either or both.

Another decision I have to make is to pull the exhaust studs out or to leave them in an reuse the factory hardware. In that case I’m going to have to hope that jacking the engine up enough will allow me to slip the JBA header in. Otherwise I’ll be forced to install the LCE studs I have to get it in since you have to remove 4 of them anyway to get it in.

Thats just black oxide, not really for use for anything that doesn't stay oily. You can get SS black oxide and will not rust. Check out McMaster Carr, they're expensive, but easy to search.

BoltDepot has been really good for me. Not quite the selection of mcmaster, but the prices are excellent, especially if you need a bunch of'm.

I've used them as well, they're good. I usually use McMaster to start my searches if it's something I'm unfamiliar with. Their customer service is amazing though.

here it is with the gunk scraped off. It feels pretty smooth to the touch. And from what I can tell no pitting that I can feel. Picture probably looks worse than it does in person.
