    Just the basics
Nah...people are going back to work and kids back in school. It will be the normal seasonal influx with a bit more but I don't see it being overwhelmed.

Tubs or not, headed that way next week.
Dyer (some hot water there too) to dunes, over the pass down to tubs, up to racetrack and a few valleys over there, down to the Crater, then pavement to Ballarat. 24 to 28th. White taco with a silver Habitat, come say hi if anyone is out!

Also, speaking of books... this is a great resource for the lower Owen's, DV, and desert region! Sorry if it's already mentioned on here :)

Does anyone have recent intel on Gold Point, NV? We'll be in the north end of the park in a week and will likely take a side trip to Gold Point to check things out.

Good move. I've been looking it's all booked up this spring save for a few weekday slots.

We went through Gold Point when we ran the Nevada BDR last summer (covered in part 4 and part 5 since it's at the end of a segment). Cool little place, esp the Macgruder Mountain area to the west. That said, if it were up to me to spend more time in DV or head to Gold Point, I'd spend more time in the park. There's so much there, I could spend weeks even just in Eureka Valley and not get to all the places I'd like to visit.

Sorry, but your excellent photos of Gold Point did not unsell the town, it looks fun. I'll be taking my underground mining stuff just in case I see an interesting adit.

I hear you "explore DV more," but we've been there a hundred times and been on most/many of the back country roads there. Time is short on this trip, also we're leaving for El Camino del Diablo only a few days after we return from DV.

Does anyone know if the Mojave River crossing in Afton Canyon is still filled in? Thinking about running the trail with someone in a new stock truck.

I just got a report from someone that it was as of last weekend (3/20-21).

You can see the current state of the crossing at the tail end of this post. UP filled in the crossing for the equipment they were moving back and forth for track work. Unclear when it will be removed (reports are that it will be "when they are done," but who knows for sure, really).

We may be going thru the Mojave River crossing on Friday, if so I'll snap a photo.
