Good morning everyone! We are currently looking for two technicians for our Haltom City location and two to three technicians for a new location opening in Weatherford. These will be flag rate positions and pay will range from $20 -$40 depending on experience and additional skills such as welding ability. Technicians MUST provide their own tools. The shop is open 8 to 5 Monday through Friday with an optional Saturday 10 to 2 if you'd like to run some extra hours. We are also looking for a couple front counter/sales guys to start at the Weatherford location as well. I am sure the Weatherford location will run the same hours but Saturday will be alternating for counter sales and will count for overtime for that week. Counter sales must have automotive knowledge and be able to speak to customers about their vehicles and build value in the work being done. Bilingual is a huge plus and can be compensated accordingly. Pay for both positions is weekly. If you know of anyone or looking yourself please reach out to me here or give us a call up at the shop. 817.834.4900. If this isn't the place for this kind of post let me know and I can move it elsewhere.

    New springs are ordered.
Truck goes into body shop today, maybe a week to get it back?
Should get springs next week or following.
    Then:
    Solar
    Leaf pack replacement
    Shock relocate

Should have plenty of time before Jambo.

Im probably an eternal pessimist, but......I've never been a fan of loading "canned" tunes to other vehicles. You can get away with it on bone stock trucks but since there is a limited sample group of tuning data, not all trucks are identical. If I were to ever have mine tuned id schedule actual tuning time so it can be adjusted to suit my truck. I wonder if they have done any 2021's yet, even though in theory it should have the same/very similar ECU, the EPA has been forcing ECU manufacturers to lock down new vehicle ECU's. Some of the new BMW bosch ecu's are for lack of a better term, untunable. They brick when you try to load a tune to them.

What springs are you going with? I'm thinking about going with the OME medium duty.

I'm getting a custom pack from Alcan. As heavy as my truck is, there is no off the shelf option designed for it.

On the plus side, my Icon RXT's have only been on since April 2019, so I might be able to sell them.

I'm looking for a new rear suspension, but in no rush. Keep me posted if you decide to sell the Icons.

My AllPro Standard leaf packs are supposed to deliver today. I considered OME, but decided against them because of usual complaints about squeaking and seen the recent issue with the second leaf contacting/rubbing the shackle.

I saw that post about your Allpro a few days ago. Which ones did you end up going with?

I had those originally with my lift; they were great when my truck was setup like yours.

I'm honestly surprised to see so few people running the Deaver rear springs.

Deavers were more expensive and I saw complaints about them sagging pretty quickly. I've had a Deaver AAL break on me, so deterred me away. All Pro got knocks against them maybe being chinese made and skinnier leaves. Some people said the All Pro Standard sag, but only if adding weight (which I won't be doing) and Expo's were too stiff if not loaded down. OME was squeaky, becomes W shaped and the shackle rub issue. Icon RXT had no complaints that I found but they were pricey. Also unable to find any complaints on Alcan, but price was a factor for me there as well as convenience. You have to contact them for a quote and I just wanted to be able to click a few buttons to buy.

I gave Wheelers my email address for their newsletter, so I got a 10% discount plus they have free shipping. So I got springs, shocks, u-bolt flip and brake lines for $661.50. I'll sell the shocks so I'll recoup a little more of that cost, too.

I've got Deaver AALs on right now, guess I'll hope for the best. Never had an issue on my old prerunners, but they had very little weight in the rears.

I don't know if it's my fat ass or the way I drive with a full gas tank, but I haven't had any luck with my rear driver side suspension. I've broken a Toytec AAL, Deaver AAL and now the newish factory leaf pack with Icon AAL is sagging after a year. Replacement leaf pack is the latest band aid. Truck should be paid off in about a year, so I can reassess at that time.

That's the weird thing that I haven't figured out yet. Maybe the Kings with 700# springs in the front transfers force to the back passenger side? I got no fucking idea, so I just keep throwing parts at it.

Does your front end feel harsh? If it was deflecting, you'd definitely feel that in the wheel.

Not really. Only time I ever feel a harshness is when the wheel drops fast (going fast over a tall speed bump) and I figure it's just the spring really pushing the wheel down. I've been running these Kings for about 45k miles and they still feel the same as they always have. The only issue I've had with them is failures of the lower spherical bearing. They get squeaky after a while, but I just spray it with WD40 silicone lube and it goes away. I replace them once a year or so.

Send those bizzos in for a revalve. It kinda sounds like your rebound is too fast.

That might help and will consider that when I eventually get them rebuilt. The 700# springs are maybe overkill for my truck with a bumper only, but I don't mind the stiffness because I ditched the sway bar. I feel like I don't get as much dip in the front end.
