I just did the same and love it. Lose some space, but I am looking at maybe getting the new UpTop rack for these covers for additional storage.

The diamond back cover is really growing on me![/QUOTE]

I haven't noticed any real change. My sides were still right at factory settings and just installed to keep it that way. The tailgate still opens and closes like it did prior to the install.

Installed the driver’s side heated mirror harness that goes to the center console along with the trigger and “on” wires plus made up the passenger side harness. That spotter mirror is out of stock till may.

Finally got around to removing (some of the) extraneous audio wiring from the prior owner's stereo setup, and got the mic and steering wheel controls working properly. Still have a few doodads in there that clearly aren't OEM, but, given that everything's working properly now, I'm not going to bother removing them and splicing wires.

@plurpimpin Nice job! I wanted to install a Dometic Hardwiring kit in that location...Where did you source that panel? Was it a blank panel that you drilled holes into? That's what I'm looking for...just the blank panel material...

Curious how you routed your wiring through that storage area...Any tips on wiring from that storage compartment to the battery would be greatly appreciated! :headbang: (btw, I uploaded the Dometic images as thumbnails...don't know why they posted so large...:confused:_)

    Cross-posted in the Dometic CFX3 Mega thread...:typing:

Brought my fender home after drilling holes for the snorkel.
    NOT EVEN CLOSE!
I triple checked the positioning of the template before drilling the holes. I'm not sure how the holes could be this far off.
The only hole that looks to be correct is the large one for the actual snorkel (not the mounting holes).

Does anybody have pictures of holes drilled for a Dobonson's snorkel?

I removed my factory inner tie rod and aluminum spacer and replaced it with a Camburg Steering Heim Clevis Kit and a solid piece 4130 chromoly tie rod from Kartek.

    nice job.

Cali Raised sells one. Grabs those two 10mm hex heads at the top of the bed sides and provides a mount outside the bed/topper above the taillight housing

That sucks man. Are the holes all off in one direction or are they all over the place? How far off are they?
Unfortunately you aren't the first person I've seen post about issues with their templates. I have one in the basement to go on soon. Makes me a little nervous for sure.

I was leery when I did because for the same reason, but after marking the holes on the fender with the template I then put the template on the actual snorkel body to make sure the holes aligned properly with the holes on the snorkel and it was fine.

Just ordered the Dauntless tailgate assist kit (just got put on Amazon at the end of February) -- it looks pretty solid compared to the other tailgate assists I've seen, and now that I am running both a kb voodoo cap and a mobtown plate, I figured it's time to keep me from accidentally dropping it too quick.

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08XNPTBBR/

Also have a rivnut setter on the way today for two reasons, one, the tailgate, two, my CB mount. I tried to set some M6 rivnuts in the tailgate yesterday and found that I didn't have any M6 nuts of a good enough hardened steel, so heck with it, time to get the rivnut tool. My CB mount I put in last year was just with self-tapping screws, and they've already backed out on me enough to make it wobbly, so it's time.

For reference, this is where my mount is, right behind the cab.

I don't have any pics of the hole themselves, but I do know that the template was off when I installed a couple of them on other people's vehicles. I ended up making a template from another piece of sheet paper and matched it up directly to the snorkel itself. Before I installed it, I matched up the original template to the snorkel and saw huge differences. Here is a link to one of the installs I did.

Little bit of this and that
So an update on this and for those out there running the Spyder/Tcmabeast lights that utilize a H1 bulb. In doing some searching on powerbulbs website I have found that Osram makes a H1 version of their Super Bright that is recommended in the ultimate headlight thread. These are rated at a whooping 100W @ 12V while the standard H1 is only rated for 55W at the same voltage. My plan is to combine these with the Headlight Services harness and to see what kind of performance can be squeezed out of these (I've yet to have leaks/condensation issues). If all else fails I'll revert back to factory housings and the true Ultimate headlight upgrade.

Those are the bulbs I am currently using with the Headlight Services harness, although with the stock headlight housings. I will however say that they were a huge improvement over the stock bulbs and wiring.
