That's what the slide rack is for. Even in the rocks like with mine my rack went well before the tie rods. I experienced my tie rods inners and outers getting play wayyyyy premature but never a bent one.

He may be referring to something like the TMR Lifetime heims.

    https://www.tmrcustoms.com/collections/lifetime-heims

Numerous company's make them and are common here in the south east on 3 and 4 linked trucks and buggys. And yes, they are used in steering applications as well.

I understand what the slide rack is for. He asked specifically about using the double sheer kit with build tie rods with the stock rack. In my experience with many folks who wheel on 37"+ tires, stock rack and built tie rod ends, they go through racks very fast where me and a few others have rack issues but go through tie rods faster. This is mainly because of the use of a front locker though. Every time I bend/break a tie rod, I had my front locker engaged where the rack is a more cumulative effect.

The pictures are from the last trip I took. Was stuck on a challenging obstacle, was on/off with the front locker use, finally came up over a ledge and had the locker engaged still then the tie rod let go. A common saying we have is if you haven't broke it yet, you haven't wheeled it hard enough. Doesnt mean you don't challenge yourself and your truck but there's a limit to every part, you just have to find it.

I make custom 90* angled tie rods for maximum wheeling mall crawler pics. It was actually never attached to my truck at all. I bent it with my mind in the pic I'm holding it then photo shopped it on my truck. Haha
