I'd be careful with the stall on a 'stronger' torque convertor most move it up for drag racing which is great for that one purpose until you drive it outside of that. I've driven some cars and trucks with those and hated it. On mine it has a later revision of a toyota tq converter not sure what the difference is but it was an updated oem pt number. everything else was from ipt and raybestos. took me about a month to build. Honestly, if I were to do it again I'd have a ipt build it or just swap in a sequential box. It all goes back on what you want the vehicle to do.

Thank you so much for the info, this is still and will probably remain my daily driver so as cool as a sequential would be I'm gonna have to pass haha. I will most likely get an IPT build

Is there a way to know that it is the torque convert forsure? Also would an upgraded one be necessary or would a new stock one be ok? My truck is 14 years old at this point keep in mind

I know on older Toys there was a code for tq converter slip, P0741 I believe? Why put in a stock one when you can get better performance and reliability for nearly the same costs? I agree with Lucario, high stalls are really annoying on a street car. I'd definitely be asking for a stock feeling setup. Just do the valve body and go from there. You already know you'll have to upgrade it at some point, you just need to make it there.

Can confirm. Once upon a time it was a big thing to do in the GM truck community. 2800, 3400, 3800rpm converters were swapped in and while they may have been useful for the dragstrip, they were horrible for daily driving.

I would start by confirming the fluid level and the quality of the fluid before going further.

Got my Procharger in. Got everything from the crank pulley, supercharger bracket, piping from supercharger to intercooler and intercooler installed. Just at a standstill until I get my software registered through OVtune so I can get my tune before I button the cold side of the intercooler and route the belt.

Don’t mind the dirty engine bay, the last rain storm was too much temptation to go play on some trails and haven’t gotten to cleaning yet.

@Smokehouse just brainstorming.....but does the tune from Procharger touch the trans shift tables or anything trans related?

@Smokehouse our resident trans expert Gearcruncher seems to recommend Lubegard platinum for torque converter shutters/issues. might be worth a shot before diving in any deeper to locate the problem

I'm not sure if I ever actually explained what my problem was but around 1k and slightly above it sounds almost like I'm going over a rumble strip and it seems like it is more noticeable when going up hills at these low RPMs (like my driveway). It is present in both 2wd and 4wd if it makes a difference

Well if the fluid quality and level is fine I would check your engine and transmission mounts with your u joints before you start messing with the internals. I ordered a ratioteck shift kit last week. There is more than one shift kit, some enhance oem qualities and others are performance focused. Depends on what you want.

Excited for you bro. Does it call for a different weight oil for 3rd gens or still use 0w-20?
