Corbeau Trailcat seats, anyone use, beige, pictures?

Loosely related but I recently added the corbeau moab and they're pretty garbage as far as comfort goes. I wouldn't recommend them to any future readers.

That's why I thought I'd chime in, give an honest review. I have an extra butt pad I bought off Amazon that I sit on and they're not bad now. The vinyl doesn't breathe worth a damn though and makes my back sweaty. Thank goodness they look nice and this truck isn't my daily.

 

Thank you for this. I’m always weary of not being able to “try” seats out. When I put new seats in the 04 it’s going to be for a massive comfort upgrade.

 

No problem. I was leery too but took a gamble thinking anything would be better than OEM. Boy was I wrong.

 

On that note, while I haven’t logged any miles in the Trailcats, I have sat in them plenty while working in the cab.. they are quite comfortable on that basic level.. but it’s far from sitting in them for a few hundred miles on a travel day - hopefully I’ll have that information before summer is out

Great, thanks, man. I had some Wedge brackets on a pair of Recaros in my old Integra and the sliders were incredibly low in order to have any head room.

There is a much smaller amount of space under the brackets. The gap is around 1.5" in the back and close to 2" on the sides. I doubt your subwoofer will fit with the Corbeau brackets. I have a small amp under my passenger seat, but I had to install the seat on top of it, the rear gap is too small to move the amp in and out with the seat installed.

 

Thanks for the info. I may have to figure out another solution for the sub when I get there. Maybe move it to the passenger side and add some seat risers.

 

That sucks. Sorry to hear. These OEM seats are brutal on my back/ass/legs.

I have no problem spending $1000 on seats if they are going to be phenomenally comfortable.

I’m going to look into these Trailcats as well as Recaro options.

 

If you're looking at the Trailcats, you should also consider the Baja XRS. As a suspension seat, they will offer more support than the Trailcats, and have a similar look. A little large bolsters though.

I have a couple dealers near me, so I'm hoping to go sit in some once I've gotten a shot in the arm.

 

I'm still happy with my Moab's in my 1st gen.


That being said, stock 2nd gen seats are worlds better than the stock 1st gen seats. So probably results in a little different comparison than the guys upgrading their 1st gen seats.

Might consider the sport seats as well. I installed those in my truck about a year/4000 miles ago and I've been happy with them. The foam is pretty firm, so I wouldn't call them phenomenally comfortable, but I have been comfortable taking 1-2 hour trips. Color wise the black really stands out in the sea of faded grays, brown-grays and charcoals that is a 20 year old Toyota interior.

 

If you have a 38 waist pants or more I advise against the Baja XRS seats. The seat bolster foam is tight and firm. After about month of driving my sciatica had enough and took another month of recovery. Passengers call them the butt clinchers. If Corbeau has a wide model, they may not fit. The standard width Baja XRS barely fit the truck.

Steven, those trail cats look great. Could you comment on how far they move forward, both the sliders and the recliner? Or, are they suitable for an xcab or would I have to hire a small child to access the back?
