For the record, I did have one, on my 2016 Yukon, and returned it.
    You can't beat a tune.

Glad someone NAILED this! (Thank you Badger) I believe this post needs no more said.
I am getting ready to pull the trigger on a Sprint Booster myself, but I am hoping that it stops the "floating RPMs" ALONG WITH pedal lag in the throttle.

When I sold my SC T-100 and all of its URD mods, I promised myself (and my wife) I wasn't going to throw the extra thousands on the new Tacoma.
So although Gadget might miss the added profit a tiny bit, I have been happy having something I don't have to stay up late working on.

But the OEM issues with the Gen 3 FORCE anyone who enjoys fine powertrains and matched components to GO BAT$HIT CRAZY. It is just a mess!

The 6 speed tranny shifts HORRIBLE, the throttle floats forever, (when you release it AND when you nail it) and they left too much power in that 3.5L engine on the shelf and wasted.

The OVT guys did a half-baked job in the engine department, but left the rest stumbling. I tried the ShiftSense Pro - and it too just isn't enough.
I am going to dump this last $300 into it - THAT IS ALL! Toyota HAD their best pickups when they put those 4 cyl 22R engines in them. Hate to say it but they will be forgotten soon if something MAJOR isn't done - AND I AM A FAN! Our other car is an Avalon Ltd and we love it. But my A/T V6 2017 TRD Sport 4x4 access cab is sad - considering its looks, legacy, and cost.

And I think Scotch or Bourbon may be required Badger - beer might not do it. (But we COULD try).

Don't like it, don't buy it. Why spend so much time on something that you don't have and that you don't don't want?

I have the Sprint Booster, I like it. I'd get another. I recommend you get one for yourself then you could speak with both authority and experience. They have a thirty day return - no questions.
As Chef Boyardee used to say back in the day, "Try it, you'll like it".

Does anybody have any experience with a pedal commander or similar product on a 3rd gen manual transmission?

Normal mode felt exactly like it did before I installed it.
It has 5 other levels eco,eco +,sport, sport+,race with 9 adjustment that can be made in each.
It also had an auto mode which learns how you drive and adapts accordingly.
I tried race mode on the 9th adjustment for shits n giggles and it will snap your neck back and breakloose the tires easily.
I like it on sport+ about 6th notch, gets my 35s going nicely.
Pedal Commander functions exactly the same except less adjustability but has does have bluetooth/app feature where mine doesn't(don't care).

Just to be clear this is not a performance chip, or a reprogram to add power....It changes the resistance of the gas pedal.
I was on the fence, but decided to get it. So The difference is night to day. Lag is gone. adjustable sensitivity is perfect. Im in city mode +2 and my gas mileage has actually gone up by 1.5mpg. No more issues approaching hills. And the truck doesnt seem to be looking for the right gear anymore.

I have had the Sprint Booster for quite some time now. No buyer's remorse. It does what it says it will do and I am very pleased with mine. I have a '14 with the mighty 2.7 and an automatic transmission. Whether such a product is worth the cost, I can only answer for myself. SB does offer a 30 day money back guarantee, so the risk is the time you spend installing and the fact that SB has your money while you decide.
Point 1.07 and a few seconds beyond - you can feel that quickened response.

I got an SB a few days after buying my 3rd Gen and finding out you have to put your foot through the floor to make a left turn in traffic or merge on the freeway. It does what it says it will; give you the ability to make your throttle up to 1:1 of your pedal input. I like it at Sport 5 for city driving. I’m migrating to a tune to improve shift points and a few dudes said not to use the SB with a tune so I’m going to get rid of mine if anyone wants it.

Oh, thanks, I have no doubt. ;) That throttle body draaagging open and draaagging closed is just *absolutely ridiculous*. I bought a 2nd gen (2006 6-spd) for that sweet spot between an actual mechanical vehicle and a computer on wheels, so fixing up that pesky little drive-by-wire issue I think she'll be even more fun. :)
I was on the fence about which unit, but I liked a few more things about the Sprint Booster (can disconnect it, small control in case I want to keep it connected, appears to be the original patent in the field, etc). So for kicks, I followed the link in that YT video (https://sprintboosternow.com/) and called the phone number to see if someone would answer the phone and answer my questions - and that finalized it for me.

https://sprintboosternow.com/ is the domain that Burtman Industries uses to sell the Sprint Booster, for $289.99, and they're (Burtman) the only sales arm with a 5-year warranty situation with the manufacturer. (I checked a few of the other similar domains and found 3-year and $299.99 most places.)
Jason answered the phone quickly, answered my questions right off the bat (Yes, there is a mode which can act like a theft prevention by disabling the throttle completely. No, it doesn't interfere with remote start systems.), he mentioned a couple other things (like the manual/automatic switch on the side of the unit), and then we got into manual transmissions, Toyota generations (he's got a '97 4Runner), Sprint Booster versus the others, etc.

Long story short, I like the 5-year warranty, like to support the original patent, and I like that somebody will answer the phone with experience in the unit both installing it and using it.

I just can't figure why anyone "WHO HAS NEVER TRIED ONE" wants to act like they know all about them. Then there's the guys like ddbd1, in posts 129 & 136 he wants someone to give him one or buy him one so he can try it out & then give an honest review, the next day he said he had already had one & sent it back. Kind'f seemed he wasn't thinking too straight. Then there's all the charts & electronic talk, charts & talk do nothing but look official. I know some of these folks think they know what they are talking about, but how can they argue with the folks who "HAVE TRIED THEM" & appx. 95% given pos. comments & are completely happy with "THE DIFFERENCE THEY HAVE SEEN". Also with the Sprint Booster 30 day return policy, for any reason, & full refund why don't they try one except they are afraid of being shown they were wrong. I talked myself into a SB in late Feb., got it installed & love it. I thought after a while the new would ware off & I would no longer notice the improvement, but no, now everyday I enjoy driving the same Taco I had been so disappointed in for the past 2 1/2 yrs. Also another idea, I mounted my controller on the inside edge of the glove box, wire plenty long to run under the dash then in from the back & attached with vel-cro that they supplied, Handy to get to if needed & nothing visible anywhere. Congrats to those who have & enjoy them. And to the naysayers, Please just try one.

If i showed you a video of a stock truck without a pedal commander / spirit booster opening a throttle blade of the throttle body quickly and in sync with the throttle pedal would you understand what us people with actual knowledge of how the system works are trying to get at?

I dont need to jump off a cliff to understand its a bad idea....
