Those cedars are from 2 to almost 3 feet in diameter ,in our area the largest ones are usually 16-20 inches . Clear white cedar was a favourite about 100 years ago for canoe and boat building, Peterborough here in Ontario, Chestnut in New Brunswick, and Old Town in Maine. There was also many smaller “builders . If they had a found those ones they would’ve been gone too.
Of course these are very small compared to the Red cedars and Douglas fir of the west coast of Canada
    and USA .

I was amazed when I drove through the redwoods, esp Avenue of the Giants. Then, I thought that the sequoias would be cool, until I saw how far away they were. I left those for another trip.

Long time lurker, first time post here. Last summer I converted my shortbed into a camper for ski bumming around the northeast this winter. Had no clue how or if it would work when I started, but it's really starting to pay off now. Big shout out to Off-grid Backcountry Adventures and Drenalin Adventures on Youtube for the inspiration on the slide out extension.

Here's the past weekend in Vermont.

I'm currently living in Oregon too, and just getting into the camping/off roading scene. With all the money I've spent thus far I promised the wife our first trip will be somewhere right next to water. Besides the coast do you have any hidden gem suggestions good sir?

Got out for a few days hiking the Bruce trail at Lion's Head this week, weather was great , a thunder storm rolled through just after dark.Nice light show and I got to work on my lightning photography skills.

Took a quick 2hr trip, and ended up camping out in Roosevelt AZ. Definitely did not enjoy coming back to 85 degree temperatures in Phoenix.

Took a bare bones commercial topper, added windows, marine hatch, insulation and carpet.

Built a platform with a slide.

Had a local fabricator build a swing out bumper so we could still open and close the barn door without swinging the tire.

Running a Jackery 1000 thats powers a small fuse block. It charges of the inverter in the bed when moving, or the solar panel when parked. It powers the lights and fridge that’s in the cab.
