Looking for TPMS

Anyone have a TPMS 42607-04010 I can buy?
Curious about battery life on these units. Is there a way to identify when the unit was built? The local dealer has one for sale, but I just don't know when it was made.

I got these to replace 4 in the alloy wheels and 1 made for steel wheels for the spare. 10 year battery , oem equivalent . They been working good for about 2 years now

you would have to program them thou , I bought a cheap laptop for $80 off eBay and the cable to the obd2 port from Amazon and programmed them myself .

Anything that'll turn my warning light off. It is a 07 Tacoma with aluminum alloy.

 

Just a bit of info. The steel wheel sensors won't fit aluminum wheels.
The newer type of sensor had a larger battery that you can see through the translucent sealant/epoxy stuff.
The sensors battery lasts about 10 years. I don't know how long the new (bigger battery) sensors will last.

 

Do you think that after market process would work with just one sensor? Or would I have to change them all?

 

I put new tires on both trucks in the last month. Added new TPMS sensors to both trucks at the same time. My Tacoma is a 2007 and the factory sensors still worked, but I knew it was just a matter of time. My F150 is 7 years old and while the sensors still worked they probably would have died before the current tires wear out. There is no charge to install new sensors and program them when mounting tires. If they have to replace them any other time then it adds $10-$20 per tire for the labor.

Most sensors last 7-10 years. If I had sensors that were 7 years old or older I'd suggest just buying them and having them replaced when you buy tires next. It is a lot cheaper to do that than wait till they go bad. And there is no reason to replace just 1. If one is bad the others aren't far behind.

They are $20 each on Amazon. These fit my 2007. Just do a search on Amazon for your truck.

This is the 3rd vehicle I've replaced sensors on using Amazon. All have worked perfectly.

 

It would work but may not be worth it for 1 sensor . I replaced all mine and the spare when I got new rims and tires

 

If all your sensors are original from 2007 then just get a set of 4
