I paid a little extra today and got no glare, when it’s raining it’s awful for me in the dark. Hope it helps.

Y'all are getting off cheap. I usually drop $1000 whenever I get new glasses. Regular glasses, sunglasses, and safety glasses for work.

I have an astigmatism, as well. I get loads of glare at night, like everyone is driving around with their high beams on.

Guys like us think it is normal, non-mechanical people come in and look around in disbelief.

I got no glare on mine but that only seems to nerf it, not eliminate it.

My wife just informed me my current pair were a little over $500

I bought a nice little chainsaw once from an old guy, said he didn't use it much -- I guess not as the chain was on backwards. :anonymous:

Several years ago I'm out on the work floor and had left my readers back at my desk, I'm trying to read the instruction sheet for whatever we are working on -- I just can't seem to make sense of it.
Finally I say to the kid who worked for me "you are going to have to read this, it might as well be in Spanish".

So he takes the paper, glances at it, laughs and says "it is in Spanish" and flips the paper over to the English side...

Well, that went through the shop like a fire -- and I got bifocal safety glasses.

I always get Crizal coating on my regular glasses. It's an anti-glare, anti-scratch, uv filter coating.

For sunglasses, I get the darkest lenses that I can and get them polarized. For the safety glasses, I get anti-scratch and Transitions coatings.

Yep that's what I got. All of the above. Used to have a frame made of spring steel. Could bend the arms in half and they'd spring right back. Great for accidentally falling asleep with em on.

The handle to my hazard fright ball peen decided it was done being one continuous piece the other day. After searching through sawdust and bark for a while to find where the head had fucked off to, I grabbed a piece of pipe from our scrap bin and voila! She lives to smash another day. The time and effort put into this fix was directly equivalent to the initial investment price. CB0A6DEA-26A1-4925-A002-61BE08836C69.jpg

    New poll.

Good morning friends! Hope everyone has an awesome day.

Workers compensation claims. I’ve had one at the shop in 25+ years. My boss bought some really expensive 3/8” end mills and I went to change tool holders on the mill and dropped one. I tried to catch it to protect that new end mill. Wound up with four stitches in my thumb. It wound up costing them more than the end mill I’m sure.

Smashed my right middle finger between a metal pole and a solid steel door for a machine. Lug chain caught the end of the pole, catwalk halfway up the pole acted as a fulcrum and whamo! Managed to yank my finger free on the third try, chain still running and bouncing the pole on it. Didn't break anything, but the bruising and swelling was so severe it split the skin open up the side of the finger like an overcooked hotdog and required seven stitches to hold it together. One month of healing, five months of PT to get full use back with no nerve damage. Got about as lucky as one can in a sawmill.

How long ago was that?

My cousin and his dad have their own logging business, the son has been hurt several times and is lucky to have all his parts still intact. It’s dangerous from one end of the job to the other

Morning crew. Never had a workman comp claim. Most of my injuries have been minor and at home or helping a friend in their shop.
Like running the tip of my middle finger through the sprocket of a dirt bike when I was 12/13 yrs. Then in early 20's helping a guy put NP205 case back in his pickup/snowplow truck, the T-case came off the jack and blew the end of pinky finger apart. Pinky finger was worst, but all good still.
