There is not much down there for camping areas. I think the closest place is about 30 miles north of New Haven.

that’s pretty cheap for my area, most spots are 700-800/wk for 2 kiddos. We just pulled them out of a spot in Uxbridge that was cheaper by $125/wk because they were being fast and loose with covid guidelines. This new one is 6 min away in town and the older kid can do afterschool there when he starts kindergarten in the fall. Evens out with how much we save on gas/time. When the younger one is done with daycare; I’m gonna lease a rolls Royce drophead or lambo urus for the wife; and still bank $500/mo.

Yup......thats about right. I stayed there once when I was fishing at Lake Candlewood......unfortunately it was the closest to Lake Candlewood as well. It's nice and quiet.

nice and quiet is good, its more about a good sleeping spot, with hopefully a brewery or something decent for lunch.

This is a good place in Bristol, about 10 minutes from the campground, but they usually don't open until 2pm. This might change over the summer.

Once my oldest is out I’m likely moving to a bigger house on a quieter street. The daycare savings will cover the cost increase in the mortgage. My daycare costs actually exceed my mortgage. That being said, they do a phenomenal job with the girls, no complaints here.

Maybe I’ll up the budget for a fun car and swap out the Vette. The appreciation on 90s Japanese halo cars are real.

That being said, I miss the tuner car scene. I’m slowly saving up for a third, but I anticipate it will be another 2-3 years before I can do anything. I haven’t decided what direction to go get, hot hatch (GTI, FiST, FoST, MS3) e90 3-series (holy crap the depreciation on those) another WRX, a Cobalt SS Turbo, H22 swap a CD5 Accord...something with a pair of back doors.

It’s fun to dream about with no budget whatsoever to work with.

As in opposed to 2 wheels or at all?

If I ever did that purchase it would be take what I can get type thing. 2 wheels will never be on the table for me.

    My friend's dad has a S2000 , loves it

Haha, my friend had a white Geo Tracker (1993) with the pink. Was actually a decent vehicle and he got it cheap.

    OOOH what band?

Yeah i hear you, day care is almost double our mortgage. I may have to get a Kubota or JD 1 series for the property before I get a fun car. not to mention as the boys get older they're gonna want the powersports toys... im likely to hold off til i can get something that im really willing to give up my garage spot for. or build a bigger garage/shop.
I used to be big into the VW scene, but that faded as i got older and they paid me a good chunk of money for my dieselgate Golf.

    Morning hoomans.
Shortly after we moved in we had a neighbor up the hill who sold drugs, and we had a few of his 'clients' stop in our driveway after a sale (I guess they couldn't wait to get home?) before he got busted, and it was pretty easy to scare them off. I'd just walk out the door with the dog (at that time we had a lab/pit mix with a big bark but was actually a teddy bear) and whatever long gun was handy and give them the 'f*ck off' signal.

Of course, you live in MA, so that course of action probably isn't an option, lol. Either way, I'm glad I don't have to deal with it anymore.

I looked up my rights, and I am pretty sure I can do the same. That was the next step actually. State police told me "we don't have people out that way". And no locals. So its a legit fear that this crazy drug addict who already threatened me and my family would go further and actually cause harm. The incident was reported and his plates and threats on record. So now there is paper trail to back me up in the future.

If he comes back I told the wife to call the cops and get one and let a few off in the back yard.

Isn’t there some law about showing a gun as a threat? I think I remember reading (might have even been Maine) about someone getting in trouble for “showing” his firearm to someone on his property or something like that.

I think there's a difference between flashing a gun and actually pointing it at someone. But don't quote me on it. In my state we have castle law

Brandishing. Depends on the scenario, but since I never pointed it at them if he called the police about it I would have just told them that I was just bringing it out to the truck and he happened to be parked in my yard at the same time, and let him explain why he was there

Ya, I don’t remember the details, I just remember being shocked the dude got in trouble. I don’t think he pointed at anyone.

I am looking at purchasing a trailer with a 7 pin plug (it is pre-wired for optional trailer brakes but was not equipped).
My Tacoma has the 4 pin flat harness.
Can I run a 4 pin flat to 7 pin round adapter? All the lighting should work correct and the remaining circuits are for the brake system?
ive always done 7 vehicle to 4 trailer adaptors but not the other way around.
