Yeah, i agree. I'm always very cautious of having one of those emergency stops, but so far been lucky not having to do so. I had to get a controller for my old gen1 tundra due to warping the factory rotors twice. I likely will add a draw-tite controller to the tacoma in the near future...been looking at them.

    Check build thread!
I got a Tekonisha Primus P3 for free from my father. He had it laying around from an old truck (his new one has a factory one). I'll be installing it today.

I picked up a Redarc Elite. The reviews and fitting into an existing button blank was key for me. I didn't have the pocket on the left hand side of the steering wheel.

The bummer I'm facing is I don't have any blanks left, just a big open spot where I'd have to drill a hole. I don't like drilling holes in $50k things.

I had to make a sudden stop because other drivers slammed on there's in front of me when towing my old 94 Jaco that didn't have brakes. I had the rear brakes on the jeep smoking. I did stop in time. The incident was over an accident ahead.

Meso or maybe you have an open spot in under the climate control.

All mine under climate are filled. I installed the 2Lo mod so I could back trailers up hills. The only thing I don't much care for on the MT is that reverse is geared super high. Do people really need to go this fast backwards?

In installed the RedArc over the weekend in my Tacoma. I usually buy trucks that have trailer brake devices already installed, so installing this was a first for me. I found it to be pretty simple and it worked like a charm! Good luck!

Looks like you are going to get a Meso customs panel. I have many extra spaces in my truck but then mine is an SR5. I do not have as many options and buttons as the TRD and Pro have.

I can't say why manuals are like that. Most that I've driven had reverse gears like that too.

Installed my Liberty today. Used the plug and play harness from Etrailer and the switch blank the goes by the power inverter.

made a small mounting plate the went onto the back of the two studs that I am guessing hold the airbag in place. Very rigid mount so should not impact performance.

on a side note I was worried it wasn’t working because it didn’t light up. It only lights up when a trailer is connected. To test you can push the knob and a blue light comes on.

That is correct, no lights unless plugged in.

Not sure if anyone mentioned it here but for those of us with push button ignitions if you want to start the truck without getting in you can push the redarc button (instead of the brake pedal) and your ignition switch. I’ve found it very useful.

That makes sense and a cool tip.

also hit 1000 miles on my truck so I can hook the trailer up to our new truck for the first time.

I found this trick pretty quick and use way too much! Just another perk for getting the Redarc.

Used the same spot. Bent a piece of aluminum in a vice and then used a drill and rotary tool to make the mount. I also had the same concern with mine about not working. Should’ve read the entire manual first. Haha
