I got a couple of my trailers switched over today, I did not register my truck, cause I have DV plates, and having free tolls and parking out weighs the thought of getting farm truck plates at a reduce price.

Can you get permanent trailer tags there? We can here as long as it doesn’t have living quarters in it. They’re around $100, one time fee as long as you own the trailer. Non transferable.

I don't think so, one tag is good for 5 years, good for trailers under 7k gross IIRC

One sticker/plate will have to be renewed again in July, she said the computer would not refund my existing regular plate or issue the full year for the new farm plate. I spent $32.75 in total.

Its kinda funny. I care about fuel economy a little when empty, but in reality, I purchased a 1 ton diesel to work. The people that buy the 6slow I believe are in the same category.

I ask one of our customers one day what kind of mileage he got. He said “dang if I know, when it gets empty, I fill it up”. :D

I agree. I bought the Tacoma because I figured it was small and would be good in gas. It wasn’t terrible on gas but not much better than a full size. So I ended up grabbing this ‘05 2500HD with 65k miles for pulling my trailers and tree farm stuff. Then I sold the Taco for a little Bronco Sport. That little bastard is getting me over 37mpg on the highway and 29-30 around town.

Found the tractor thread!!! Have a kubota bx23s w backhoe, grapple, root ripper, etc.. love it and already put 100 hrs on in the last 8 months. That's a lot for a home tractor....only have 4 acres...lol.

    Worthless post without pic!

Yeah, its a bit of a unicorn. Rubber floor, manual everything but alloy wheels. It was a special order truck and it came with every receipt and the window sticker.

Welcome to the tractor thread. Some amazing ideas, cool builds, and of course sweet tractors.

This is definitely in my top three favorite threads.

@ColoradoTJ I think I may have took on another side project making a good friend a fork frame so I ask my buddy at powdercoat if his forklift guy had any forks. He said I could have this rusty set if I come get them. The guy who wants me to make it said he had a :fenforcer: or two to trade

I tell you this cause I know you are still looking for a fork frame :anonymous:

Nice unit. How many cubic feet is the backhoe bucket/scoop? I'd like my next tractor to have a backhoe, but the buckets on some of the compact hoes are hilariously small.

I've only got a little under 3 acres, but I probably put 200hrs a year on my compact, and am considering getting something bigger

Although I suppose with the camp I've technically got like 3.5 acres. Now that I think about it, I bet that 30 of last year's hours were just from running the tractor back & forth from camp to home, haha!

We live on 1.2 acres and have 4 tractors :anonymous:

That doesn't include the 3 lawn mowers and miniature tractor :anonymous:

Hell, I’m in Florida right now (without the truck of course) meeting up with TW friends.

I said after the last fork frame I wasn't making anymore but when he said Colt, police, and .38 in the same sentence I changed my mind :goingcrazy:
