Same thing just happened to me last night, had 5 to start with, used 4 to unlock the ECU but can’t go anywhere from there. Ended up just requesting like 5 more credits if I don’t hear back by the end of the week I’ll email him.

Honestly I’m not sure if it was even worth staying on 40B31 (99% sure that’s what it is) but I guess I’m stuck here till I can get some more credits.

The Request Credit function is typically used in conjunction with a Credit purchase. I'd send @OVTune a Zendesk message for the other four Credits. You should get nine total with one always remaining.

It is always best to be on the latest TSB tune. You're 04B31 and 04B33 is the latest. 04B33 is shorthand for 8966304B3300.

So should I ask for enough credits to unlock 04B33 as well as the 4 I need to use the master key? Essentially just completely starting over?

Also if you could link their zendesk cause I’ve never heard of that it would be awesome!

It is up to you, but you do not need to Unlock the ECU if you are just flashing the Tunes. You only need Credits to Unlock your VIN.

Zendesk is the the provider for his help desk software. The direct address is at the top of the vF homepage and a support link at the bottom right. Either those will get a help desk ticket going.

You are a legend thank you for your help!

so just to clarify: I can just go ahead and flash a tune that works with 04B31. Could I go ahead and flash tunes like for 33”tires or the kruser tune without needing more credits? If so how can I do that cause I’d love to just knock out “break in” (well really more “learning period” for the taco).

    You're welcome!

Yes. As long as you're ECU is still 04B31, then you can flash up while you wait on the 04B33 stuff. Once your VIN is Unlocked, that is permanent no matter what you do with the ECU IDs.

If you have heavy 33in LT tires, I would recommend the 35in tire VFT tune to keep the AT settled down.

Thank you so much for all your help, I’m literally walking out to my truck with my computer right now lol

not sure where to find where I can change the tire size or throttle response on the vf app itself, but I saw on the BS tune page that I could download tunes from there as long as they match my TSB?

Sorry for all the questions I’m just really new to this whole thing (but excited) and I really am not looking to messing it up!

    You're welcome!

Tire size can be down with the various tunes in the Tune Pack. See the green highlights below. Changing throttle response is trickier and done with tune editing. IMHO, I would stay away from the Thx tunes.

How did you access this? I’ve been trying to get to it but can’t find it anywhere. I have the tune packs (or at least I bought them lol) but I’m not sure if OV was supposed to send me links to access this or if I really just don’t know how to use my computer.

When you purchased the tune pack you should have sent an email to zen desk with your ECUID then they send you the proper tune pack

Ok that makes a ton of sense cause when I bought the pack (and the dongle) I didn’t know my ECUID. Is this something I send to them via support or is there somewhere else for this info to be sent?

Via Zendesk from the link on the VF website.

or you might have more luck hitting reply to the email zendesk sent you for your purchase of the tune pack

VFtune has said new zendesk requests take longer than if you respond to a current zendesk

Don't try them all! That just slows down the response and loads up the queue. vF / OVT is just one person. :D

It was more of a joke lol, but I never received a confirmation order (even though I have the dongle and am pretty much ready to go) so I ended up replying to the email where I left items in the cart. Not sure if he will see that assuming it’s automated, but if I don’t hear back within a week or so I’ll probably try again!
