    About to treat my SWB to a set of Toyo open country Mts or the Cooper Zeon LTZs. Both would be 285/70/18s. What do you guys think? positive negatives? Open for any other suggestions!

    Man, those are some radically different tires you're considering.

    The Toyo is an multi-terrain tire optimized for off-road, the Cooper is a street/all terrain. I'd let your intended usage dictate your choice. Lots of off roading? Go the Toyo. Mostly street/dirt & fire roads? Cooper's a better choice.

    Also, that's a BIG size you're talkin about: a 34" tire. Most (not all) folks with a 3" lift run a 285/75/R16 or 285/70R17, which is a 33" tire.

    You're prepared to do a lot of plastic trimming and cab mount chop, right?

    Finally, the Coopers aren't available in the size you mention.

    Yeah im still debating on what kind of off roading i will be doing.. i do already have an off road rubicon so i dont know how far i want to go with the tacoma. The coopers i meant to say 285/60/18s

    Ah, P285/60R18. So it'll be lighter and ride better as well.

    If you've got a Rubicon as your trail-bustin rig, then definitely go with the more streetable tires on your Taco!

    toyo AT's on our ford, i roll cooper ST's on my taco. I love them, they work very well for lots of things. so my vote goes for Coopers.
