Find yourself a used Herman Miller Aeron desk chair. You’ll thank me later. I’ve had mine the last 5 years. Love it.

@Archangel this was shortly after we moved so it’s nearer now and not even in this location anymore but you get the idea.

Here's my cluster fuck. I just picked up a buttload of velcro straps to clean the mess of wires up.

Card table topped with a laptop, bag of almonds and a coaster. There’s a rolling chair but it doesn’t move without a comprehensive dog tail check.

...yeah, what this guy said. What do you WFH folks have??

I paid $200 for mine. Businesses sell them to wholesalers from time to time once they upgrade or go out of business.

Do they go out of business because they spend money they don’t have on expensive chairs?

wholesale on FB market place. These chairs will last 20+yrs. if something breaks you can buy individual parts and easily fix it. You don’t have to buy a whole new chair.

Just built mine from a 8ft long butcher block top from Lowe's, 8ft x 25" deep x 1.75" deep. Couple coats of stain and poly and it's legit. Ikea legs on one side and the back, Ikea Alex file cabinet on the other side for storage/support. Fits my 3 x 27" monitors for work, and a 24" monitor for my personal PC for "between meeting" surfing.

[EDIT] I really wanted something about 32" deep, but with the use of monitor arms instead of stands, you really gain a lot of desk real estate. It's expensive to set everything up correctly, but well worth it in the end.

If you don't want to pay a TON of money, I suggest Secret Labs chairs. I searched and searched and searched, went with their Titan. I paid around $400/shipped and it's super comfy. Comfy does not mean soft and squishy though. It's a little firm, but supportive. I've sat in it 10-12 hours a day, 4 days a week for a year now and it feels exactly the same. Big fan for the price.

My wife just bought herself one of the Titan chairs. It is actually supposed to be delivered today. She also did quite a bit of research before deciding to purchase one.
