Been following the news, and spoke with my Toyota service advisor......they have 30 Tundras parked waiting for new catalytic converters due to theft.....y
Toyota is coming up with a shield to put on the underside......nothing yet for Tacoma....

so , anybody out in TW land know or install some sort of underside shield to make it harder for thieves to steal your Tacoma’s Catalytic converter for the metal (platinum).?

interested since I travel and park at hotels

    Still thinking about it.
In my fantasies I have an air bag suspension that drops the truck on the thief and KILLS IT.

In reality I’m just hoping this trend passes as the cost of the metal goes back down.

If you happen to have a metal engraver...... climb under there and write your name and info on it, makes it much harder to sell, and maybe leave a few comments for the thief to read insulting their mother.

Really won’t do any good. They probably won’t notice it as they are hacking it off super quick, then they get it back to their chop shop and see the writing the can either grind it off, maybe just rip it apart for the precious metals inside or just toss it out because it’s not really a loss to them.

It will continue as long as voters allow it. How you vote matters.

People are voting for local and state District attorneys, judges, mayors and governors. These people decide punishment for crimes and recently the trend is not to lock anyone up for pretty much any crime. No punishment means theft is legal. Not only that but they are letting out those already locked up.

Voting for tougher DA's, Mayor's and Judges, punish repeat offenders with jail time. Fines mean nothing to these criminals, they don't pay them anyway.
