If it makes you feel better, I put a deposit down in September of last year, and my trashbag green Pro was at the dealership on 3/3.

I was basically figuring that I would get to order my manual Hellcat (late availability allocation because manual) before getting the Pro, at least it showed up before April.

Yikes - That's what another dealership told me. Could wait up to 6 months for delivery.

My build date fluctuated also, and ultimately got better. It went from 2/24 all the way to 3/1 and then back to 2/26. Picked it up on 3/19, but it was here on 3/17.

Is the only way to get an updated build date to call your dealer?

I think you can get the build date from this website, as long as you have the pre-production VIN - it has a letter in the last 4 digits. Toyota assigns a new VIN once the vehicle goes into production. When it does go into production, the pre-production VIN will no longer be valid on this site.

Yea I’ve been here before and plugged in the pre-production vin# but it doesn’t give you the build date. It gives you just about everything else. I’ve only seen the build date from an email from my dealer.

dealer texted me on march 12th saying truck was in route to them. i tried asking what plant it was built at so i could get a time estimate and was told they don’t know. never got a temporary VIN or anything else you guys are talking about. sort of losing hope and hopefully not wasting my time.

I’m not sure why they can’t provide you with those details. I was told and heard 2-4 weeks for delivery once it is built. Also heard a lot of the shipments are being held and delayed a bit.

I ordered mine on Jan 19th roughly. I recieved communication from my dealer in the beginning of this month that it would arrive in May, but nothing beyond that yet. I don't other information I can be expecting and I am also wondering if I am wasting my time...

Patience is a virtue, but patience is easier if there was some information that I could fall back on.

well my worst nightmare occurred. went to the dealer to ask what’s up with my truck. the sales manager hands me a build sheet with the estimated delivery date of April 5th, then I notice something. they ordered me an automatic transmission truck when I specifically said and texted multiple times i was orderinga manual transmission. you would think they’d have a bit more attention to detail. im currently fuming and not sure what I’m going to do at this point.

If you specifically ordered a manual, do NOT take the automatic truck, you WILL hate it.

I test drove the automatic and couldn't get out of the truck fast enough, it was so slow and dim witted. The manual after accumulator delete drove like any old school manual.

I believe Haas Toyota in Houston had a manual LR Pro coming in, not sure if it's spoken or not, but worth a shot.

My guess is nothing. I pretty much just said good luck selling that truck but it won’t be to me and you won’t be earning my business. Extremely disappointed they just wasted nearly 4 months of my time.

Yeah I’m 100% not taking it. If I wanted an auto I would have ordered one. Unfortunately I’m not in the market for a TRD Pro but I’m sure it’s a beaut!

That is incredibly frustrating. It sounds like you are much better off going elsewhere. It's easy to tell when dealerships (or salesmen) are just looking for a quick sale and don't care versus the ones who want you to walk away happy. I could have ordered anywhere but the dealership I placed the order with has been fantastic throughout. He sent me the build sheet and asked me if there were any tweaks I wanted him to try to make. He's super responsive and helpful. Makes all the difference. I'd shop around and make drive to pick it up if need be. Goodluck!

Don't go for it , it's BS  ,it's your money ,get the exact truck you want ,it would be worth the effort. My dealership gave me crap about getting my AG DCSB OR MT ,so after a couple month I followed the advice of one of the TW member and looked on auto trader , found my exact one in AZ , I'm in WA , flew down there and drove it back  . Don't let them tell you what to get :argue:. Good luck
