    Digital Tune Files

Digital tune files are available for purchase and immediate download through our website: ValleyTune.com

Simply select your tune, input your options, purchase and download. Install the tune through VFTuner.

All files will be sent as a LOCKED .VFC file. Unfortunately the most recent versions of VF Tuner can only export tunes with this extension, if you have not updated your software then a .vfc extension will not work on your vehicle.

    Professional Installation

Professional installation partners can be found through our website on the Appointment Request page. Fill out the form and we will get you in touch with the nearest installer. Prices vary as installers set their own prices.

    About Valley Runner

Valley Runner is a performance oriented, stock based tune with the goal of optimizing fuel economy while maximizing the entire powerband of the 3.5L 2GR-FKS engine.

Each truck running a Valley Runner file typically experiences the following:

    • Smooth and predictable shift points
    • 5th and 6th gear cruising on highways
    • Decrease in time required to reach operating temperature
    • More tame idle
    • Reduction in idle spiking
    • Low end response similar to a full size truck
    • Improved fuel economy*
    • Increase in available power
    • Ability to pass emissions and safety inspections**
The tune is based on OEM CL/OL logic. It features advanced timing with adjusted air-fuel ratios to maintain environmental standards required for inspection in certain states. Atkinson Cycle compensation and improved direct injection yield a responsive low end while reducing fuel wasted by the inherent design of the 2GR-FKS platform. (Don't worry, it still clicks like a stock Tacoma for those who love that sound)

*Improvements to fuel economy are compared to factory functionality of the vehicle. Results may vary dependent on environmental or mechanical factors.
**The Valley Runner Tune has passed emissions and safety inspections in North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. If you are concerned about passing standards please restore the vehicle to a factory tune prior to your inspection date.

@Rocky.Mtn providing some feedback on VR 1.8 this morning. He has been upgraded to 2.0.1.

Valley Runner does have a reduced warm up period, when cold the truck will hold low gears longer (just as it would in a stock configuration). This has been reduced in 2.0.1 but cannot be eliminated without sacrificing light throttle power and interstate gear holding. Such is the case with full size trucks, cold morning shifts will hold a higher rev but the V8s will sound hollow (they lean out during this operation to reach operating temps).

Another feedback of V2.0.1 from @shotgunbilly420 out in Washington State.

He is running premium fuel on a regular tune with no issues, I assume he is patiently waiting for the premium version of VR to be available.

I believe he was going to put over 100 miles round trip on his commute to work. Thanks for the hard work and feedback Chris!

If anyone with an ECU ID which I currently do not support is willing to spend $40 and able to find another user (preferably with a different ID) to go in with $40 of their own, I will gladly purchase credits and develop for those trucks as well.

    Example,

    2018 Truck Guy pays $40
    2020 Truck Guy pays $40
I produce Valley Runner 2.0.1 for both ECU IDs and each person will be added to the list with my testers for receiving updates free for the lifetime of their truck.

If we can get another 2018 then it’ll work out, if there is a 2019-2021 that would be on board then it’ll really open up the tune for everyone.

I intend on converting over 1.8 into these ECU IDs as well. That way everyone can have access to a free standard tier of VR and the option to purchase the upgraded version

That’s about standard for the tune when the truck acts as a wind sail. In AZ last week I pulled 22.7 as a 60mph average. Flat terrain is much better than hills and mountains

Your earlier post of the commute. You went 54mph for 59min and still had 355miles of range left. Kinda looks like your truck broke into the 400+ miles to empty range :101010:
