What Have You Done To Your 3rd Gen Today?

Technically yesterday, but I installed the Tungsram H11 bulbs. They seem to make a difference in brightness, but mostly I noticed a sharper cut off of the beam vertically.

Re routed the AC drain hose away from the frame and did the viper cut today. I didn’t want to cut out the fender liner so I used the heat gun to bend it up; that way the fog lights aren’t exposed. Also, removed the stickers in between the doors. I never noticed them before, until someone posted about them. After that, it couldn’t be unseen. I just think stickers and emblems look terrible on a nice vehicle.

 

Did you use a heat gun on the stickers between the doors to remove them?

 

Had that with our Lexus RX300, stupid $20 cable you have to take half the engine apart to get to...

TRD PRO Skid Plate (PTR60-35160) installation instructions from Toyota are attached. I also drove up on ramps to get some easier access. It's a one person job, but a helper makes getting the new skid plate in place much easier.

Hopefully I made this descriptive enough for the search to find when anyone needs it in the future.

 

One of the first things I did within one week of owning our Sport was pull the black vinyl off on the doors. Our second gen didn’t have it and looked so much better.

Ebay, at the dealer it's $600 +tax...(Alberta) and even if it's a knockoff I'm ok with the price.

 

I'm a big fan of OEM stuff...some stuff. Yours looks awesome. I'm not a hard-core off road'er so for me this is better that the steel one stock on Offroad model.

$600!? Dang man, you guys have it rough up there. Most dealer sites seem to be offering the oem plate for a bit under $400 around me. Plus shipping cost if you can't physically pick it up.

 

Yah man, everything up here costs more...have you seen the prices on Tacoma's up here...$65000-$70000...for a sport model with some dealer add-ons

 

That's insane, why is that? I would definitely not be driving my sport if I lived up there. I was able to buy slightly used for about 29k in Illinois/Chicago area.

 

But don't forget to add 30-40% to your price depending on exchange rate. $400 USD is about $520-530 depending on the time

I don't think those above prices are accurate. I got a used 17 OR for $31k plus fees. The new ones were about $45k and up

Supply and demand I guess plus dealer rip-off techniques...most people don't pay those prices which are insane. I don't know how much you know about Alberta, it's kinda like Texas but with 7 months of winter ...because we are sitting on the largest oil deposits in the world...some would not think twice about dropping huge sums of money on things. Alberta basically supports all of Canada with it's oil revenue that are into the billions...many billions...but now things have changed even in "Texas" north...
